All very interesting on damage model but this was flag rules thread lol can't wait to read posts after they are deployed ?
mm.... yes get real mode is getting there.. not just just yet but every patch get it closer so it's ok.. He who wait for something good .. mm.. patience is a virtue...
Regarding the Damage-Model I noticed a very honest answer by @J-F Chardon in Racedepartment-Forum regarding a question to the Damagemodel in R3E...
In spite of damage model, I want this ranking system ASAP. I'm a bit frustrated what the morons are doing on servers, especially on qualfying...
just curious, does this mean there will be a yellow flag at Melco Hairpin every lap like in real life?
If i'm not mistaken irl you get 3 blue flags before at latest you have to let a faster car pass.. Any reason why there will be only 2 in this system? Great addition otherwise! Greetz
Japan is at 11 pm Everyone, good night Good luck with all the staff of R3E I will buy Volvo tomorrow.
What happens if a fast car doesn't want to overtake a slower one even if the slower is slowing down and changing its line to let the faster overtake? There's some professional trolls on free servers and I see here a good way to troll a race by forcing slower cars to get disqualified.
just saw this few minutes ago , a troll in a p1 car didnt overtake 2 wtcc class and both of them get DQ
I feel like a visionary, but I'm just inspired. Trolls imagination has no limit and is trained at a high level to exploit every trolling spot... ^^ Sadly, I'm not sure if this is so simple for S3S to detect this behavior. Hopefully, MP rankings will help keeping trolls away from ourself. Talking about the famous troll Weregonnalose, this guy is ok to spend money in iRacing, training, racing just to wreck others, making them lost their license, making fun with a video, waiting for the ban to end (also sending reclamations and requesting a refound he got...) and restarting the sequence. A pro troller! ^^ And I must admit sometimes he gave me fun. Sometimes I'm a bit scared he come to R3E but since there's no vocal chat nor the possibility to repair damages in race, I think we're safe from this serious threat.
Is it only my imagination, or do the AI cars actually respect the yellow flag? :-O This is probably one of the more brilliant patches lately.
Not imagination. A lot of work went into the AI behind the scenes to not only improve their normal driving (aggressiveness, braking, etc), but also to make sure they adhere to yellow flag rules and they will also respect blue flags. Every system is imperfect in some way, and this is something I partially agree with. The way blue flags work now, is the car has to be within a certain distance for the blue flag to trigger. This distance is actually quite small. It is a fraction of the distance of any heavy braking zone You have ~20 seconds to yield the position before getting a penalty, so unless you are on a track with no corners that require braking, or choose not to slow down slightly to yield, this isnt much of an issue. For instance in F1, you routinely see backmarkers completely pull to the side to let the faster cars by. May take some getting used to. Im not sure what you suggest instead? If a car goes off track and comes to a crawl, or is facing the wrong direction, or comes to a near stop on track... of course a yellow flag is going to be shown. If you are seeing them constantly (i hope that is an exaggeration), then perhaps all the drivers in the session are reallllly struggling to drive the cars and are crashing, or losing control too often There are also 2 types of yellow flag. Passing allowed, and no passing allowed. Not all yellow flag scenarios disallow passing. The idea though, from my understanding, is to create a heightened awareness when a yellow flag appears. You arent just supposed to be blasting on through the track like normal. You are supposed to take awareness and be mindful of the cause of the yellow, slowing if needed, and limiting your passing if needed.
