Hi Sector3, just some questions on the class Prototype-series. Are these cars based on a real life car or are they purely fictional? If so, which ones? I only have the free DMD P20 and just spend some time with it, very fun car.. Really felt prototypie Do the other cars have a balanceofperformance on them or is one always gonna end up the fastest? Thanks for your info, Greetz
I know when I was testing top speed a long time ago, they were all the same except one of them had a limiter. I think they handle differently though but its been a while since I used them seriously (kind of been waiting on the Audi )
Thanks for the feedback! We did some races yesterday-evening and all cars seemed to be competitive! Did some quick testing also at the raceroom-track and love the different sounds and the different motorcombinations which results in different behaviour.. Didnt test topspeeds etc.. I'd love to get some developer-feedback on this though just to be certain
Just did some digging and found this interview with @Anthony Monteil from 6 March 2013 Herein the prototypes and their sound are discussed.. http://www.tracktimeaudio.com/?p=594 Quoted a part of the article.. "Also, R3E features some cars which give me creative freedom to make them sound like whatever I want. Here’s what I used for the prototype-style cars: - DMD P20 : Courage Peugeot C60 3.2 lit. V6 Turbo - DMD P21 : Formula Le Mans Oreca 6.2 lit. V8 - Mistral M530 : Bentley Speed 8 3.6 lit. V8 Turbo (=> this one actually looks like the Bentley as well.. A British Racing Green livery would suit it well..) Different rear wing and airintake on the top but pretty much alike no? - Mistral M531 : AER 2.0 lit. 4L Turbo" (=> looks an awful lot like an Audi R10 from 2006) More info always welcome..
Wingwise that's indeed more like it.. Front is more bentley imo except for that 90° front splitter thingies and double front canards..
Yeah, they're like P1/P2 cars circa 2010, hopefully the R18 will be in the same class with these as they should match fairly well.
I must say they are very nice and challenging to drive.. It's one to just take them out on track and cruise around, but once you start pushing and going on the limit it goes fast, very fast.. I loved the free car that much i got me another one, the mistral m530 aka "Bentley" and it's even a bit more challenging Also I suddenly can imagine a bit better the forces which the current type of prototypes generate..
