One thing I love about Assetto Corsa is watching replays using the static camera view. Obviously R3E has a static camera set too but I find the camera angles are not as creatively placed as those in AC. Just wondering if this camera set could be given an overhaul, particularly now the game has implemented a DOF effect which allows for more immersive replays.
Static cameras typically use a wide angle irl (nobody operates these cameras), so you wouldnt see any DOF anyway. Of course there might be exceptions to this.
Some of AC's static cameras use a bit of artistic licence in their positioning but the end result is much more pleasing...
Frankly i find it a bit odd that static cameras change focus and exposure. It just doesnt make sense to me. But thats just my opinion.
It's a game at the end of the day. Not everything has to conform to reality. Anyway, thanks for your answers.
It dosnt make sense to me that a game that started out as online only still doesnt have a proper recognised chat system implemented or that it has 4 years on, just about got a grasp on a flag system, that there is no real damage modelling.........it goes on and on. Reality is what reality is, or isnt in the sim racing world.
I think on some tracks, the static cameras change to often. If they were placed better, one camera could show a greater part of the circuit and then the game doesn't need to switch the camera all the time to show the car. For example at Paul Ricard there is this looooong backstraight. Instead of one camera at the end which shows the hole straight, there are I think 4 or 5 along the straight that show the car for 2 seconds and then switch to the next.
Its not really, it was late and i just needed something to bitch about But was in response to the dosnt make sense comment, its a game not real life, not a lot makes sense in games and gaming and how they work or are designed!!
