Hey fellas, Quick question regarding mandatory pitstops. For the stop to be considered 'complete', do you have to change at least 2 tyres? If you only refuel, will the game still insist you stop for tyres? Ta, Jim
AfaIk, yes, at least one set of tyres (front or rear) have to be changed. That's the only variable that counts, fuel doesn't matter.
That's where official lines are born usually. Tbh, haven't tested all possible combinations in a while and I remember there was some discussion yonks ago. So I'm pretty sure bout the above, but might be wrong. But if I am wrong, then you need to change all four tyres....come to think of it...it might even differ in respect to the class used. Not sure if you might have to change all four when using DTM f.e. Sorry, this is really just a stream of vague memories, sth I read somewhere internally long ago but can't find atm.
It says "Developer" on his avatar so surely he's incapable or lies or error? Aren't all developers? I know I am
Kitsune found that thing I mentioned. There was a brief period when you had to change all four (actually couldn't change only two), but that was revoked.
Yeah, we wanted to have it possible for people to mess up and only change two when you need four. But it turns out it was a lot of spaghetti code to get through to solve that. We're pressed on time and resources as it is so, two it is!
Do you know what the penalty is for not taking the mandatory pit stop? (online) Instant DQ? DQ at end of race? Time penalty at end of race? Something else...
Pretty sure you end up with a DNF in the final results. But I'm admittedly going from a more and more unreliable memory here, so.....
Hmm, not sure bout mp. I *think* you get dq'ed when the pitlane closes, or might also be at the end of the race. But I'm pretty sure bout the DQ bit.
Well the MP races I've been in they have been DQ'ed, but also if they have been speeding in the pits they have also been DQ'ed, which is abit harsh, should get a drive through for speeding.
Now the thread is going crossover (finest denglish). You only get DQ for speeding in pitlane when you are far away from the speed limit. If you are only some km/h too fast, you get a drive-through. If you are not going for the mandatory pitstop, you finally get DQ. The 90 seconds you only get, if you have a drive-through at the end of the race (within the last three laps) and you don't serve it.
