The servers keep crashing. Unfortunately I cannot host the event for you. Sorry I will keep you up to date on a replacement date.
sorry for asking, but how could someone join an event like this? edit: oh it's about the leaderboard times? how many drivers?
Yes, always check the competitions tab in the game. For official RaceRoom competitions, we always use the leaderboard as a decider. And we also sometimes have competitions with a Division System in use, where there is also a realistic chance for less experienced drivers to qualify.
This is an important tool for the future. Otherwise, only the same drivers will participate and win. We need more interested drivers to push RaceRoom.
@Christoph, we are talking about competition. So of course in the first division/pro series/whatever word there are always the best. mostly the same drivers but there are always new guys which can compete with the pros or are better
@DubZ, I am aware of this and I want to keep it that way. But it should also be offered as in the WTCC Series 2017 in other divisions races.
The system sucks because it's still mostly hot lapping for the most of the people. I don't mind making a few laps in the leaderboard to put me in a race with guys at soni lost pace, but I want to race. Now the main part of the event is doing laps solo. And only 1% gets to race. That's why I don't take part in those competitions, it's a waste of time for me.
I know. But I cannot host 400 races at the same time with doing manual results, server setup and penalties, so unless there are changes with the functionality of RaceRoom as a whole, this system will remain.
I understand that very well. I'm helping stewards some league races. It's a lot of work to manage it all manually. I'm just voicing my opinion in hope someone will consider it important to make changes in the way it is handled.
Hi, How about the idea to host the competitions like in RC-Car Racing (with multiple Finals with participants sorted by laptime), maybe in combination with a 107% rule. So everyone who is able to drive a time within 107% of the leader's time (in leaderboard) is allowed to join a race. Of course it is not possible to manage all races manually, but this would be a system to race against drivers who are able to race nearly the same speed and racing within these groups would be very interesting. Furthermore this should reduce the "crash drivers" who are not able to drive a clean racing line.
We have changed to a different server. A practice server called [RR] Spa GT3 is running with the event format, not passworded. Please try it out if you still encounter any bugs. I will be around this evening on the server around 18:30 EU (17:30 GMT) maybe we can get a fun race together.
