1. KW is not a sponsor the owner of KW is also an owner of RaceRoom Entertainment the publisher of R3E. 2. I guess that to be able to use real life billboards that use trademarks they would have to have a deal with that company. 3. The game branding isn't targeted at you. It's the easiest placeholder and is visible if someone streams their gameplay. To sum up it's always about the money. Either to not spend it where you don't need to or to gain some.

there is already... in some competitions with the support of a partner, those ads were replaced by other ads. In DTM and GT-Masters were specific ads, too...

At AC forums somebody said for Road America public LIDAR data is available. That is laserscan data, AFAIK.
... since Google Earth is free for everyone, the sim track development has become much easier. With some screenshots you are able to create a high detailed virtual copy of every racetrack in the world, because the pictures of Google supply many data which you need like track routing + widths, positioning and dimensions of curbs / buildings / objects like woods / parking areas, ... . So laser scanned data are not so important for the track itself but rather for details like track elevation, road bumps or heights of buildings and objects. But as you can see, it's possible to manage it without laser scanning: (I doubt that this rFactor version is based on LIDAR data) Look forward to the first reality check of the R3E version ...
Really looking forward to this track. I usually prefer laser scanned tracks but R3E seem to be about the only ones that pull off credible versions that aren't laser scanned, so i'm pretty excited about this.
Does this guy in the vid chat shit or is it just me and my expectation, maybe i just dont like RD and am biased! Maybe i drove this track in a previous simbin incarnation and it dosnt look a lot different from what i remember, maybe he sounds just a little too loved up with it, maybe i havnt had a drink for a while and am tonight and it is just kicking in, lol, oh the maybe`s they just keep on coming EDIT-Maybe i should shut up now
I think Paul gets tongue tied sometimes at the same time as driving apart from that I think he is a good guy does a excellent job over at RD, who are big supporters of R3E, and do great online racing.
