Maybe you did not understand when I say bots is for offline.

The lack of option to set aggressiveness is a very important weakness, especially when compared to other simulators.

In my country I know many players who left the game because it seems very, very aggressive and without the possibility of setting

In other aspects the game is excellent and the news about switching to UE4 is a successful move

    hm.

I don't really understand the problem with the AI. It gives you a hard time, it's not your friend, it fiercly fights with you... in my understanding this is a good thing. Best thing you can do is fight back and well.. learn how to fight with the AI... it's much more satisfying than to tame it just to have a less thrilling race. Have you tried adaptive AI?
For me an agg. slider is not needed as the AI is doing a great job in imitating a real race car pilot who has the will to win a race, and not let some dude squeeze past without fighting back.

And AI aggresiveness is linear with AI level. Set AI level to high and it ain’t no fun, set it to low and it ain’t no fun. Set it at the right level and you have tons of offline fun! Adaptive AI is an excellent solution for that.

    Nope.

You can adjust a low level of AI (85-90% for example) and be pushed off the track (and that's not tons of fun).

It´s easy to understand the game must have:

    1) AI strength

    2) AI aggressiveness

It has on sites like Race Dept., and it instantly turned into a sh**storm because people dont understand that 'investigating future possibilities' does not mean it will 100% happen for sure.

    Kind of like this :p

A graphics engine change, or switch to another DX version aint gonna happen in the next 4 weeks.

Is it used a lot tho?
We've been talking about this several times in the past but my viewpoint was always that it's not that important because do you really need a feature that, at its very core, just adds boredom to the experience? I get the realism argument but still think it would be sth that would take quite a while to introduce for rather little added value. I personally just don't see the point in doing laps after laps following a safety car that's not really needed anyway cause every reason for it in the real world doesn't exist in the virtual environment (debris on track, recovering vehicles/drivers etc.).

Ah, so it's mandatory and not an option?

Do you just mean road racing?

Oval racing the safety car appears every 5 laps :p

rFactor 1 had that feature for sure. I think rF2 uses a safety car for accidents too.

Please don't introduce one, about 10/11 years ago I got up at 04:00 in the morning to do an online Bathurst race with some Aussies, after practice and qually 2 laps into the race there was a safety car which lasted for 3 laps the following lap I crashed at the end of the chase, full damage. Not a great way to start the day:(

To be fair I've never known it used again:D
And I agree it seems a bit pointless in the virtual world, there are other functions I would prefer to see worked on.

I really have no experience how it is handled in any sim - but thinking a bit about it, things like Safetycar, FCY or Code60 can add quite some immersion, strategic aspects and for sure some penaltys for ignoring and overtaking under yellow... That might need an extended Damage-Model and a logic to handle it. For example when is a SC needed and how long would it take to get clear Track-Conditions.
If that is done, the Time behind a SC might be boring, but there are still some things to do - like saving fuel, keep Tire-Temps up, don't overtake or crash the car in front. And the Restart it self can be quite interessting too...
But yeah - more or less that would be a feature for longer races, as in short 20min-Races it wouldn't be that much fun to have a SC after Turn1-Mayham that stays 10min on track...
