We just enabled a new feature in RaceRoom: Time Attack Ranking We have replaced our old percentage-based Division model in leaderboards and competitions, with a new TA Rating which defines your TA Rank. To get your rank, you need to enter any of the RaceRoom TA Competitions: http://game.raceroom.com/competitions/ This rating is calculated from your performances in Time Attack competitions over the last 12 months. You improve your Rating by standing higher up in any of the active competitions. Ranks will be updated after every major series of competitions, for example the end of a championship or just before a new esport series begins. There are 4 divisions, splitting the ranked players as follows: A ( top 10% of ranked players ) B ( from top 10% to top 30% of ranked players ) C ( from top 30% to top 60% of ranked players ) D ( from 60% to 100% of ranked players ) Your rank is visible on your profile page and on the leaderboards. You can filter the leaderboards to only show drivers of a certain rank. In future championships & events it will help us match drivers of similar skill levels to race together. This is a first step towards further ranking and online career features in RaceRoom. Stay tuned for more in the future!
3rd of December 2018 Dear Diary, Sector3 just made my year making I think I am gonna send them some sweets to express my excitement about it!
It's a very nice addition for those who don't race online but prefer online time attack competitions (like me).
I think it's better not to. Ranks are nice but they also always add a bit of pressure when you compete. Let's keep some areas of the game pressure-free.
Having not even looked at time time attack mode before, how does it work? Is it same as leaderboard or do you get limited laps or something? What makes a premium competition? Just that you must own content or is there an entry fee?
Yes for certain special events, especially on-site events or occasions where we host a ton of servers, entry fees are required. But it's rather the exception than the rule.
I'd happily pay a small entry fee for regular well organised official racing, really hope the special event model gets used more in the future.
Do Free-to-Play competitions also affect your TA rank? I think only championship competitions should be counted.
Yep, one can't estimate the drivers behaviour on track, based on a LeaderBoard standing, that's for sure
Hi, nice idea! I have one question: if I do not enter a competition, does it affect my ranking ? I'm currently A, but imagine I make only a few laps in the competition, recording only a bad time. Is it more penalizing than just no competing at all on that combo?
Grosjean<exactly Maldonado<exactly Joke... This idea got a very good impression. I did not participate actively in the competition. I can not put up with the judgment of rank B, so I think started wanting to run with aim for rank A. If know my rank in a visible form, you will be able to encourage more active competition participation. already have the same question, is there a rank down? I have the same anxiety too. If Disadvantage combinations continue, the results will be something that will make want to cover my eyes.
