Hey @Balrog , I would recommend these drummers to your fav bands, it would make it all a bit lighter, more lively, less dark, sinister and allegedly super-serious . Also wild masks, tatoos, and muscular, hairy men who have to scream all the time would become kinda obsolet (because of a more humorous approach).....(while the musical level would be even raised a bar higher !)
Not bad, they are definitely talented little girls, Japan has the weirdest drummers anyway (Btw, I wouldn't call any of these my favorite bands anymore, actually, it is kinda weird to feel nostalgic about "hairy man screaming sinister things in the darkness". But listening to heavier music has always been one of my most effective methods to release stress besides sim racing and exercising.) Some metal drummers have nothing to be ashamed of in my opinion, but I'm not sure if you will like it.
Yeah, I had my "hard phase " musically as well but hat was stuff like Rage against the Machine or Clawfinger back in the 90s....and being a drummer myself I totally admire the stamnia of these Metal Drummers - also to understand why to develop an interest for this drumming style for the sheer challenge it is. But as you always give 150% in terms of power, strength and specially loudness and dynamic you automatically take away a lot of your own possibillities regarding the drum kit's sound and expressing yourself in a most versatile way - these Japanese Girls are technically brilliant but they are young and full of power and so I miss the real fine and sensitive chops there too. Power drumming always sounds good and sensational but is just a tiny part of what you really can do on the drums. It's not really fair to set Simon Phillips as example but just stumbled along and guess he comes more close to your preferences - btw. that drummer from Finland is a Monster, I give you that : I personally come from that direction (Fusion/Crossover) but as many other drummers getting older I recently found my way to a moreJazz oriented playing (always fond of but was more on the rock and funky side of things ) Greetings
I still cannot believe they released something that good after so many years. I just refresh it once in a while to make sure that I didn't only dream about it And couple more on a (much) lighter tone
Not a piece of music in the classic sense, but that man always sung his own songs. Actually grown up with Mork & Mindy (Mork vom Ork) saw his movies, tho I didn't realize long time what a f****** brilliant "stand up" (literally) comedian he was., unstoppable... Must see - If you're not native english speaking put on some headphones on - it helps R.I.P Robin
