YEEEEESSSS! I absolutely can't wait for this update. Already loving the new car announcements; the addition of tyre pressures and a new damage model makes it even better!
i don't want to interrupt your cheering, but this won't be all in the next update. This is more like a 2019 and beyond roadmap of what is planned and what they are currently working on. At least that's how I understood it.
that's good, that means that it will be done with quality and depth Still would like to hear if cooldown lap is planned. Big turn off to me when race ends abruptly at s/f line.
Oh yes. And Alex has more than hinted that both the 2.5 and 2.3 versions of the BMW E30 will be represented, most likely the touring classics one will soon become the 2.3 liter 5-speed gr. A version. <3
I was actually worried that this would happen. @sbtm is correct. Not everything you see here is coming in one same patch. And not everything is going to come soon either. And any of the stuff listed might just get dropped in a freezer for a while. That's the deal with small development teams and early information
Well would have made a comment earlier but my elbow slipped, head bounced off desk and I'm suffering from concussion, funny one, thought I'd read that tyre pressure/flat spots were coming that the damage physics were getting overhauled that kick/ban and ballast were being added to the dedi server options API getting rewritten allowing for fancy apps and web overlays then I thought I saw more layouts for Oschersleben (I've had a bang on the head, couldn't remember how to spell it) FREE! I need to go lie down, now I know I'm seeing things, physics being added for sewing machines maybe a trip to A&E is necessary. S3 you amaze me with your casual approach, group C, new tyre model and damage model, with just sprinkling of necessary dedi server upgrades, this is not just an update, this is a statement of intent. Have no words left to heap praise on you and your team, maybe after a lie down and the reality has been absorbed.
What we see is a move and development with Fokus to become more sim-elements in the game. Appreciate that
You @J-F Chardon may not regret opening this thread but I do. Will future threads for 'State of R3E' be in its own or will we have to return to the eventual 100 pages of this OP? Appreciate the transparency by the way.
Hope the new garage menu of R3E will look similar like this one: ... each setup main point has an own "index card". Does that mean that we also get a new in-game replay menu in the next time?
Oh, that would be actually amazing. Imagine being able to view telemetry overlayed in replay. I looked at the size of telemetry file from 100min rF2 race - it's only around 9MB. Of course if we would multiply that by the number of cars in a race, that would grow significantly, but good compromise would be full data for player car and simplified (similar to what we have right now in shared memory) for rest of grid. Of course question is, if that would be possible, how much work would it be to develop and if that could cause some issues.
Tyre pressure, DTM92 and touring classics physics update, are really welcomed news for me. Good outlook!
I'm pretty sure if there won't be native way to export to Motec i2, like in ACC, there will be someone that eventually write an app to create logfiles
