Good evening sim racers, while playing the Audi R8 GT3 (current model), I noticed that the camera is not centered to the driving collumn and the display. Unfortunately, this really bothers me. I could not find the option "Move driver perspective to right/left" in the game settings. Is there any opportunity to adjust the camera file in this case? And if so: Where? Thanks a lot for your help in advance! Jan Philipp
There could be an option to do that but im not sure. I remember there was a bit of confusion when some option regarding this or something similar got introduced. Id have to check myself tho and wont be able to do so before friday afternoon
Theres the confusion i was talking about So using that option does the driver sit further to the left/right or does he stay where he is but looks slightly to the left/right?
It's a bit of both, or none....... It's not actually panning/tilting the camera but shifting the perspective plane, but you'd have to ask @J-F Chardon for a proper explanation, it's something to do with your head being a hole.. Summed up, it's complicated, but imo the effect it has is closest to a panning or tilting of a camera, so it's not a "seat left/right" adjustment like we have for seat up/down/forwards/backwards. Might still help the op, so I mentioned it.
Ouf, I had made fancy illustrations for the betatest discord channel, and then forgot all about it to move on to the next thing, but from the top of my head, you have to imagine seeing the world through a window (your screen) and your head, your eyes, are looking through it. Adjusting the seat up / down means moving your head up and down, while the gaze offset is about moving the window up and down. Or something I'd need to refresh this.
It took me the good part of a year to realize that, any and almost all adjustments I could ever want, are assignable. Really, looking at a beginners guide to Raceroom, showed me that you could pan the camera, adjust pitch, as well as the drivers distance and height settings. Then came the most important adjustable option. The reset view option. LOL. I have borked some in car camera settings to a point where I had to stop driving the car, because I had no idea of what the default view looked like. Nothing like driving a Camaro GT3 with my eyes inches away from the windshield. Slowly reading through the binding options has saved me some face, cause I was about to ask how to zero the drivers view.
Some day... But yes, reading through all the keybindings and settings is actually worth the effort cause there's a ton of little features that are actually useful, yet many people don't even know they exist.
I use triples, so this may not be the same for single screen (not tried it, nor looked) but this is what I did to reposition the camera for the Audi Audi R8 LMS: ..\Steam\SteamApps\common\raceroom racing experience\Game\GameData\Cars\audi_r8lms2015\Cameras\cockpit_driver_view_triple.xml Default: <relativeTransform type="Matrix">{ 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 -0.295 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.851 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 -0.1 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 1.00000000 }</relativeTransform> Edited: <relativeTransform type="Matrix">{ 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 -0.315 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.851 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 -0.1 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 1.00000000 }</relativeTransform> Edit: Ok, I looked, but haven't tested Edit \Steam\SteamApps\common\raceroom racing experience\Game\GameData\Cars\audi_r8lms2015\Cameras\cockpit_driver_view.xml Try changing from -0.330 to -0.310 <relativeTransform type="Matrix">{ 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 -0.310 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.88 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 -0.15 0.00000000 0.00000000 0.00000000 1.00000000 }</relativeTransform>
