On CSW 2.5 in order to have correct degrees of rotation per car on the game the option SEN in auto would cover that, also, using MATCH SETUP in game would sync the animation of the wheel with the game one.. now on the new Podium wheel this doesnt happen anymore, animation being wrong i can live with, having to calculate steering lock per car is an annoyance... anyone having this issue or am i beeing daft ?
There was another thread about this and a smart user here posted this which I copied and can confirm fixes your issue for the DD2. —— Go to ..\Steam\steamapps\common\raceroom racing experience\Game\GameData\General Edit steering_wheels.xml Add in: <key type="uint32">462519</key> <!-- FANATEC Podium Wheel Base DD2--> <value> <vendorSpecificRangeLock type="bool">true</vendorSpecificRangeLock> <minWheelRange type="uint32">90</minWheelRange> <maxWheelRange type="uint32">1080</maxWheelRange> <alwaysCreateEffects type="bool">true</alwaysCreateEffects> <supportsSpringEffect type="bool">true</supportsSpringEffect> <supportsDamperEffect type="bool">true</supportsDamperEffect> </value> Not sure if the key will be the same (462519) but if not, go into your RCS controller file Documents\My Games\SimBin\RaceRoom Racing Experience\UserData\ControlSet\YourFilehere.rcs Grab the ID from here: DeviceName[00]="FANATEC Podium Wheel Base DD2" DeviceId[00]="(462519, -1, -1, 0)" And change it in the steering_wheels.xml It will then automatically change DOR based on the vehicle, when set to auto Not had a prob mapping things though. Just been dialing in my ffb settings, but loving it so far.
nope, if it's just an ini file change then i'm sure S3 can stop dragging their feet and update it themselves
So you know how to help yourself. But yes, it's time that S3 updates this ini. They have a Podium to test and I think everytime pointing out how tiny the team is, doesn't help at all and so many seems get stuck on R3E. I'm totally on your side!
Seems that after all this isnt working properly at least, if you set driver and wheel visible and then grab for example audi tt rs vln turn the wheel with SEN=Auto it will turn less then if you set the wheel to the regular degrees it really has when CSW connected in auto that is 600 degrees, double check the files to see if i had something wrong but no, IDs match... quite weird... PS : i realized this because i was training in Macau and had to turn my wheel way more then my friends with CSWs in Melco turn...
I may be miss understanding you - but the animation on the wheel WITH a driver in the car will not turn more than ~360 degrees.. I recommend turning off the driver and seeing if the result is the same.. even though I am in VR I have stopped using the option to have the driver visible because the wheel animation is incomplete (they are aware of this for more than 2 years). If you are saying it still doesn't match your wheel - something is a miss - I've tried dozens of cars now with at least 4 different rotational maxes and all are synced for me.
Forget the animation, what im saying is that the DOR isnt correct with AUTO on SEN even after the mini hack we did. I am forcing the DOR myself per car now, i just ask my friends what DOR the game is reporting for them on CSW... in the case of the TT RS VLN is 600 degrees...
Odd it is working for me on my DD2. I’ve yet to come across a car that doesn’t have the correct DOR. Nathan
Then i have no idea , its not working, i grabbed the ID of the DD1 from my control file and added the wheels as you mentioned in steering wheels xml ... ah well...im sure at some point someone else will notice it...or point me to what i have wrong..
Yup, working perfectly for me too, I have tried quite a lot of cars too. The only reason I knew about it (I posted it in the FFB thread originally) was because a member of our club also did the same for his DD (accuforce or osw, not sure which). You should be able to see if its working and what its doing by checking the fanatec control panel. I wouldn't pay attention to animated wheels to check it. Set to Auto, jump in a car in game, then switch to the Fanatec Control Panel and you should see the DOR it has set. It will change the slider from whatever you had it on default (1080 or 900) to 540 etc.
Are you sure this bit says true <vendorSpecificRangeLock type="bool">true, this is what displays the DOR in game, I had to do it with the Accuforce as Fx mentioned and another club member with an OSW.
