Discontinued OtterHud - A custom WebHud

Mine was working correctly after otter's suggestion, then I clicked of the pit box in from the relitive box started a new session and the default settings came back again..
Went to try again and now only get mismatch.

 

Despite trying everything that's been suggested to get this hud-working again with no success. Despite my efforts all im getting is version mismatch. Despite starting from scratch. I get the same result. I guess its not as reliable as I thought. Not exactly convenient before a race.

Can you download that one and check again?

It is just because they changed the version numbers and crew chief did not updated yet.
Also you may need to redownload the dash.exe as it would not run with the older version!

Only problem for me is, no matter what the developing is not working at all atm

On the other problem I was having, the resetting back to default, I'm pretty convinced now it happens when changing vehicle/class, it's fine when you stick to what you were in, but as soon as I change class the app resets back to default..

 

if i start the dash.exe separately your overlay will work, if i start the dash from the CC it won't work.
Must have to wait until CC brings an update.

No not even within the same class. Before: 911 ADAC 2018, Next: R8 ADAC 2018. Still a reset to the default. My guess is now that it is not before used track/car combinations. Is it possible that there is a check for this?

 

You mean whenever you hit a new track/car combo it resets?
The appsettings has nothing todo with the fuel stuff in any way, its a total different part in the localstorage.
Does it also reset the fuel stats or only the settings of the widgets (position/size)?

 

@OtterNas3 ok I'll change my mind and agree with Zziggy, it seems quite random, the 2 pics below show the difference between a good exit of the game and a bad one where the app has reset hope it my help..

 

Yeah the websocket gets closed as soon as you hit esc in singleplayer or go to menu in mutiplayer.
I dunno what happens when you Alt+F4 out of the game (I would not do that anyway)

Problem here is, the WebHud sends a data request and the websocket got closed before the answer from the dash.exe was send.
Like you calling someone and you hang up before he says "Hello"

But this should not reset the settings, as they only get deleted when there is a window.error ongoing

When you re-enter the game does the Fuel-Widget still show data?

Good informations!

So it is not the loacalstorage that gets deleted entirely, it is only the localstorage.appSettings variable
I will dig around and see if i can reproduce that and possible fix.

 

Now I even had it in the same session, after singleplayer qualifying and it reset to default once the race started ...

 

All seems to be working again at my end just have to rearrange and turn things on as if I was starting from a fresh install so to speak. Just can't seem to relocate the radar. So if anybody's got an idea how I can move that to any location I choose please let me know.
Despite my slight annoyance of it not working when I want it to work earlier today I still think it's one of the best hugs available for this SIM.

 

You have to disable "Autohide" for the radar, then you see it and can move it, and then you can enable Autohide again.
