This poll is tantamount to asking us if flushing our money down the toilet is a "good idea" or a "great idea".

I consider this somehow counterproductive to the classical community racing (vs esport). There are a lot of well organized communities who literally work their ass off to provide high quality simracing events . I pay a fee of 35€ per year at Virtualracing and have access to all divisions (R3E, rF2, Assetto as the main players there) with professionally organized Leagueracing and Funevents. Thats where I come from (btw. like SP races as much as MP racing) since Millenium and I#m actually no friend of over-commercialised stuff whatever in this area. Community means "to commune" with like-minded friendly , not over-aggressive ppl/drivers you learn to know over a couple of seasons for example - which is the best for finest close racing events - much respect and a lot of friendship (= fair and competitive racing). The moment too much money or prizes and such comes into play it somehow gets ugly most of the time - unless you're a real professional racedriver, well then it's part of your job ;)

No more money from me, no matter what it is dressed up as paying for, i decided 12-18mths ago i had paid enough for RR.
When someone can come along tomorrow and purchase 100% of the game for 66% of what i have paid for about 80% of the game then there is a problem with the pricing model, flogging a dead horse to complain about it but the longer you play it the more you pay, ffs its arse about face and wrong.
If there were leaps and bounds in the changes, new graphics api being invested in or a n other changes being invested in then i may consider a purchase or two, but paying constantly for a slightly different model with a slightly different skin when underneath they are all basically the same, remove the skin remove the model, what do you have left? An invisible car with a setup page, and every single car in the game has pretty much the same setup options and limitations.

Invest the money invested in the game in more than physics, cause if you take that away what in the game changes? There are no game changers, there is nothing new that makes me want to spend money on RR, car models, skins, tracks i have driven thousands of times in multitudes of games over the years.

Until there is a reward scheme or some sort of discount based on previous purchases to balance out the premium pack price against what i have already payed then i refuse to be the gift that keeps on giving, metaphorically speaking of course.

Apologies for waffling on, but more money for RR when i have probably payed more than 3 times what i have ever paid for a game, more money for RR when Jo Bloggs can buy it all tomorrow for peanuts next to what a lot of people myself included have paid,

    No, just no!

Got the whole game in premium pack in vrp cash :p like two weeks ago, and I'm glad I did. Will be very pleased to pay for any new car/track to sustain the long term development of this game as I like it very much, as well as the community and the developers style from what I can guess here n on discord.

I would pay like 30€-40€ per year to have a system like Iracing or SRS implemented in the game. I don't use SRS because I can't get it to work correctly in VR, otherwise I would use it often. I have it in AC, but I honestly prefer RRE.

Well, you obviously got to play the content much earlier than someone who is buying the Premium Pack right now. That's like complaining about a 5 year old CPU now costing less than at launch. Prices going down over time is just the way of things.

It is absolutely nothing like paying for a technological advance, but if you want to go down that route, its dx9 ffs, where are the advances and changes? Something to justify the constant milking of long term customers! There are none.

Nonsensical in the context of the game!
But the problem here is the cost isnt reducing is it, every time something is released then there is another charge, another cost added onto the long term cost of purchasing a bit here and a bit there. At what point does it get cheaper, i cant see it, perhaps you would like to explain.

I sort of get where you are coming from but at the same time even in the 2 years I have been playing the game there has been plenty of progress. SP multiclass, AI selector, much improved physics and release of some very very good sim cars. Improved damage model is on its way as well as the constant improvement of content already in the game. Non of it can be done with out income so selling new content is essential, as is attracting new players hence the discount for new users.

I don't really understand all the DX and engine stuff, but from what I gather those sorts of changes are big steps and will only be taken when the time is right.

From time spent in most of the big sims all I can say from my experience is that raceroom is the one that gets it right most of the time, there are features other Sims have that I wish raceroom had, better multiplayer, day/night transitions etc but none of them are deal breakers for me... I do buy all the new content and while it isn't cheap it's also not expensive either when compared to other costs in life, I went to a wedding do last night and spent money buying myself a hangover.... Raceroom is infinitely better value than that!!!

I don't like monthly subscription for games... It's another tax or bill to pay. I think it's better a buyable game (pay to buy the complete game) than the monthly "tax"...

Simply put, for my ideal sim I would have no issue paying $10 / month

I started playing this game in January 2017, and I don't often think about how the game has changed since then.

But when I do, I realise how far this game has come as a whole.

Of course, this would not have been possible without community support. Something which could potentially die off if this game was to become subscription-based, as less people would be playing.

My point is that this game should not have an iRacing-type subscription, but should be kept how it is now.

Dont get me wrong, when i can be bothered to play i love it, and yes it does get a lot right (as of now, how long?), but the pricing and advances in the game are out of balance, the things you mention are basics that should of been a priority for the game when it was first released, its online only and 5-6 years in still no proper chat, it took 3 years before you could save a setup, there is a lot of good money being taken on a regular basis but the reinvestment of that money is too skewed in favour of releases rather than requirements for me to justify keeping up and paying for the latest release.
That is how i see it, if people are happy to keep paying and being milked the way they are good on them, for me, as it is, my money goes elsewhere or stays in the bank ;)
