Hello All, I use a G25 wheel and shifter and I have noticed that the H-pattern shifter does not work on certain cars. For example, the Callaway Corvette in the 2018 ADAC GT Masters pack. The paddles work but not the H-pattern. However, both options will work in some other cars. I have the transmission set to manual+auto clutch. Is this by design possibly? Thanks
This would likely be by design. You can use paddles with a H Pattern car so not everyone would have to buy a shifter to drive them.
Because he wants to? And why not? To actually answer the question, I think it's by design. The paddles (or rather, shift up/down binds) work for all cars because not everyone has an h-box. The h-box (or rather, individual gear binds) are only activated for cars that have an h-box in real life. A shame, as h-boxes are fun and it would be nice to use them with any car we choose.
I wouldve just voted agree but then you wrote that h boxes are fun and i could not just ignore that. So this is just my confirmation of your answer to the question being correct
You can see the list of cars where H-pattern works here: https://forum.sector3studios.com/index.php?threads/raceroom-car-lookup-list-june-2019.13259/
Thanks for the replies. I thought it might be by design, just making sure. Yes, I agree, H-patterns would be fun for use in any car. Personal preference.
One of the problems with H-boxes being available on every car was that it was getting abused, with people using absurd levels of engine-braking on e.g. the leaderboards where mechanical damage is off. Yet another example of a few twits spoiling the fun for everyone else.
