There are no fake effects. Gear shifts generate a punch, almost painful one in motion though, but not in FFB.
in might have somethingto do with the fact that gearbox simulation is minimal in rF2 atm. If I recall correctly, there's content where shifting creates a sensation in the FFB (URD EGT I believe), but it is not like something you can dial up or boost, it does not work that way.
Try this - get Imola by Reiza, AMG GT3 by S397. Turn off ABS in car setup. Put on soft slicks. This will be good demo of rF2's physics IMHO (note how it behaves under braking, flat spots, standstill FFB etc). Then, set up Imola 24hrs event (you can time accellerate). I used S397 GT3 + Flat6 cars, and will also try adding BTCC into mix as it is closest to TCR. See the 24hrs transition - it is awesome on paid tracks.[/QUOTE] Thaat´s my beef with RF2. The quality of the tracks and cars varies so much, both in terms of physics and graphics quality. GTR2 was similar, the later mods were HQ as PC specs improved. For me, there needs to be tidy up of the UI and of all the official content to DX11 spec before I would consider it as the go to game.
I'm quite... intrigued about the McLaren. On the the other hand, faster loading times are always welcome and the multiplayer news are also... good news. Waiting to see what else they show at Sim Racing Expo.
Faster loading times are great news. Loading a multiclass Le Mans race for almost 4 minutes can be kinda annoying. (And that's off SSD.)
August roadmap update is up and you can read what is all about here. Not so many news that we already don't know since Sim Racing Expo just happened.
How much is this DLC? And by the way, oftopic, does anyone know if Automobilista 2 will feature 3 screens support from day one?
It is the same engine as Pcars 2 so yeah you bet it will work. I race a lot with Pcars on triples. 7680x1440. Works like a charm.
