No preferences. Really just wanna know if it looks any different than what we previously had as dawn so if you already checked that on another track then a simple answer would do as well :D

@Nico Kunze There you go: Shadows seem a bit glitchy though, as you can see on image 1, the whole shadow of my BMW is shown up in the air on the banner while sun isn't even visible... Still nice!

Firstly, I wanted to say a big well done to Sector3, since the OP these updates have improved the game further and further. I liked these development notes posts last year keeping us in the loop of what is planned for the future.

One question I have is around the 2019 liveries for three racing series as quoted above. Now that a lot of the other items on the list have been delivered on I wanted to ask if these livery sets are still planned as I realise plans do change from time to time. I also seem to remember reading in the ADAC GT Masters Esports thread that there may have been a late issue in bringing the full set of 2019 liveries into the game. The thought crossed my mind with the increasingly popular 'Race from home' trend and the fact most 2020 series are currently postponed making me wonder if a release sometime soon might be on the cards.

Finally, I realise the response to the COVID-19 virus has varied from country to country, I was just wondering if the result is likely to be a slow down in development in the short to medium term? Obviously game devs need to stay safe too!!!

Hey guys, I love raceroom. It's so addictive and fun. My go-to racing game!

Today I found out that the Skyline R32 Sounds have changed. Is that a bug or is that on purpose? I liked the older sound much better. The new sounds remind me of my e36 BMW when I lost my muffler.

Hope someone could update me to why they changed the sound from realistic to, let's say "different"

Actually, the new sound has a better quality and is more realistic than the old one.
This is the video I used as a reference and I think you'll agree that it's now very accurate ingame:

I'm sorry that you prefered the previous sound, but I continuously update the car sounds in order to improve them as much as I can.
This update for the R32 was much needed as my previous source for the cockpit sound didn't have the audio quality we're
aiming for, so it would have changed sooner or later anyway ;)

PS: and you're totally right, it sounds very close to the E36 too, but in the end, they're both (raspy) inline straight 6 engines isn't it :D

As far as I know, no slow down in dev, it's even the opposite actually ;)

Oulton Park for R3E when? :D

I think the street version has more of the trumpet sound, than the race version, that R3E is aiming to, could explain the confusion.^^

Thank you for your fast reply and clarification. Indeed the new sound is much better quality wise and it really sound like the Skyline in the Video. Great job on that one. Thank you!

I was probably misleaded by the fact that I already have driven the R32 GT-R street car in Real life and also stumbled upon this video:

In the video you can see/hear the Gio Skyline R32 GT-R. Could it be that some of the Group A Skylines sound different to another?

It will very likely depend on the exhaust system.

Indeed, as CrimsonEminence said, the exhaust type has a big influence on the way the car sounds.
The Group A cars from this era often had 3 or 4 different exhausts that you could select depending on the track layout, race length, or some car settings (engine, gearbox, etc).
The Nissan is a good exemple of these sounds variations with the exhausts, the BMW M3 E30 or the BMW 635 CSi also had several exhausts options, as many others Gr.A cars ;)

Well that's interesting! How does a present situation help speeding up Raceroom development, if its not a top secret? :D

I always found the R32 sound to be lacking so happy to hear it's been updated and for the better from what I hear on that video. Excited to fire R3E up now other than I remembered I can't get the seating position right ever since moving to triples :(
