I like racreoom a lot, but there's one thing that seems missing from it. All the cars are relatively high level racecars. It would be really nice if we'd get some vehicles that are actually attainable for those of us that race in real life on an amateur level. I'm thinking along the lines of some old hot hatchbacks like the Honda Civic V and VI VTi, the Renault Clio Sport, an older VW Golf GTi. Creating a class for cars that are FWD, have regular manual gearbox, not too much power, some decent suspension and a rollcage. It would be fun to have a go at for example the Nordschleife in raceroom with a car relevant to what you race and then having a go at it in real life with your real car and seeing how close you can get to your virtual time :) Any thoughts?

I guess obtaining the license for those cars shouldn't be too problematic, should it? I mean some manufacturers of those old hot-hatches like Honda and VW already have cars in this game :)

The NSU, so low powered it can't propel itself outta the kitty litter, case closed.

Can't say that I'm a fan of the idea, to be honest. I know we all want our favourite cars in the sims we play, but souped up, low-powered, FWD "road" cars are just not my idea of fun. For me this kind of car is mod territory, and there are plenty of sims which allow for that.

FWD isn't even all that popular as it is, so I think the WTCC & WTCR classes fill that niche and really aren't all that hard to drive. There are so many great real-life series yet to be covered by R3E, as well as numerous great cars missing from series that are, so I'd rather S3 spend their license budget acquiring those, personally.

I'd be all over the MINI Challenge cars or Spec Miata.

I believe the Dev live stream discussed both a cup car (please not a Porsche) and a sub 200 HP car, perhaps it is the same one.
I was thinking MX5 cup but a Clio could fit the bill too.

:) A full-field battle with the NSU at Knutstorp is a blast, but yeah, stay out of that kitty litter.

I'll happily throw money at a ~mid tier manual to chuck around Brands Hatch Indy. Clio/Mazda sound great. A Caterham would also be a blast for a RWD alternative.

MX-5's are RWD. Every sim needs a Clio Cup or equivalent.

I do not think those cars will sell well. Never understood why people want street cars in sims.
Edit: isn't Audi cup what you want? Fwd and pretty slow.

ford fiesta cup? those are pretty popular in the Benelux area at the moment and create close racing. I would probably ride those, but i am not too fond of FWD cars, would rather see the mx-5 cup

the audi has a sequential shift gearbox. And I'm thinking more along the lines of a H-pattern shifted car.

And as for the reason to want one, I described it in my first post: a comparison of real vs sim laptimes. Plus it could be used as a training tool for us amateur low-level racers.

The old Mini Cooper would be a blast...as a cup car and as a NSU companion as well.

Audi TT also has push to pass.. So it sort of break the whole formula of being a street vehicle.

It's also 310 + 30 bhp which isn't exactly low powered either. Clio cup or mini challenge would be awesome.
