Thanks to tyres 4.1 and engine braking, this class has now become one of my favourites. Before the BMWs would spin off track as the earliest opportunity and the others would have massive lock ups. Now they are all not only driveable but a heap of fun to slide around. I recommend giving them a try, you won´t be disappointed.
I had no problems with spinning, but i agree latest update really made this class to shine. One of the best and most fun cars in game for sure! Hopefully this class (too) will get more cars in future, few more skins at least would be great.
TWR Jaguar or Rover Vitesse would be great too...if we continue dreaming Of course there is lots great cars in atcc too from same years, but then this will be another car wishlist thread.
See above, Rover 3.5 and Ford Cosworth are no brainers. Maybe the famous Opel Manta from the Ring too if it was a similar class. Mercedes 190 E Group A too.
What do you mean exactly? I'm not a Volvo man myself but for me it looks pretty good, i mean just as ugly as real one
Rumour has it that the inventors of the house brick were looking around for inspiration when a Volvo 240 drove past....the rest as they say, is history.
I see, you may have point there. Really hard to say from pics as it looks different from different angles. Probably most of the older 3d models have some little inaccuraties to be honest.
The windows actually seem to be a touch lower on the original.... but even if that's the case, it's really marginal and to be honest: a brick is still a brick, albeit a really well-driving and iconic one Oli
Here are some nice links if anyone fancies reading all about the Volvo: http://people.physics.anu.edu.au/~amh110/group_a_volvo_specs.htm https://www.autocar.co.nz/classic-reviews-app/volvo-240t-group-a-touring-car https://www.pbase.com/towerymt/240_racing&page=all
Who wouldn't like to read all about the Volvo? Thank you, and happy new year, @Alex Hodgkinson - keep up the good work.
Look at some german Classic Touring Car race series. Youngtimer Trophy 24h classics Nürburgring Dunlop FHR Langstrecken Cup Some Scirocco paints from Youngtimer Trophy are in the shop. Like to see some BMW E30, Mercedes 190 and Porsche paintings! And maybe an updated Capri Rs I drove in 24h Classics 2014 and 2015
@Alex Hodgkinson I've done some reading on the Volvo, and here a couple of facts relevant to the game: Traction Control was tested during 1986, but never raced due to possible teething problems. It was never homologated. Front end spring were stiffer than can be set in the game. Usual setup was 800 lbs (140Nm) at the front, and 600 lbs (105Nm) at the rear. The engine revved up to 7500 rpm. This may be limited in the game because of BoP. Cheers!
I really like the Touring Classics too. I also discovered that if you add the Porsche Classics to a race they will be added to the same class instead of making it into a multi class race.
