I found AI in qualifying too fast while in race too slow. Anyone have a solution to resolve this problem?
Maybe that sounds stupid, but nowadays after the qualifying I immediately quit the race and create a new race where I increase the AI strength by 2 points, disable qualifying and manually set my qualifying result as the starting position for the race.
Interesting, my experience is kinda the opposite. I seem to mostly lose positions in race than gain them. I.e. many, if not most, AI cars can't show their true pace in quali because they are constantly stuck in traffic. Even on regular-sized tracks and with mid-sized grids (like 20 cars). What tracks/classes do you guys run?
It's random unfortunately, although they are still roughly sorted by the AI strength defined in the AI talent files.
I cannot see anywhere in any menu that allows you to set your start position. Could you please explain, thanks.
How long of a quali session to do you run? For me personally, I just use qualifying as a way to calibrate what my AI setting should be if it's on a new car/track combo. If qualify toward the back, but not at the back in a 10 minute session, then it's about right. I'll then quit and start a new race and select my starting position based on the type of experience I'm after for that race.
