I just did a race with 35 players and did not notice any problems. Im still on the server. Come join us!
I had a great race on the 36 peeps server and it all was fluid and no lags etc. But one thing that annoys me (not only in this sim) is that the replay doesn't save the cars that quit early. So in the race itself I had a very great battle for a complete lap and in the replay I'm almost fighting alone against ghosts instead of 3 cars ahead and 2 cars behind, because they quit early for whatever reason. Is it impossible to save their data for the replay? It's no fun to watch the replay then Otherwise it was a lot of fun and mostly very fair except for one incident in hatzenbach.
Trying to connect to the 48 slot session running now... But it take ages to load! I'm on it since almost 5min and still loading... Seems that I'm screwed edit: yep, game crashed
Can't believe that you have like zero problems while others also report freezes, lags and crashes. The game just now crashed during the 1st lap. First all cars vanished from the road, then on the radar they were outside of the track and only spinned. Like 20 seconds later the game crashed, it didn't create a crash log... I also got disconnected once. Also the lag when someone joins is horrible. It makes no fun to drive online, it always kills my hotlaps.
@J-F Chardon just curious, which amount of bandwidth is consumed and what connection do you use? Is blocking of high latency players possible in any way?
Just finished a race on the VR 48 slot - server with (I believe) 37 opponents. Messed up my quali-lap due to the good old join-lags, started somewhere around P35 and finished 4th, so I had most of the other drivers in front of me at some point. I noticed no problems or differences to the 24-slot servers. No lagging cars or high pings, no framedrops, only a slightly increased loading time. Would be interesting what happens with 40+ players, though.
I do play online in pCARS with a german DS and i dont have any issues with lag or only minimun, but then last time i tried R3E online it was a lag fest, do the big grid test is with DS or P2P?
I tried to join the big grid server yesterday 3 times and had problems, first time I managed to join and was waiting on the timing screen for qualifying to end (didn't make any qualy lap) and then the game froze. The other 2 times the game crashed while joining with an error about web texture or something, it also suggested I started the game with some parameters. I suspect my old gfx card just can't take that many cars + the huge track but here goes the crash dumps anyway if you want to check it...
Yeah, it can be the same for me. My old 660 Ti struggle with more than 30 cars in SP, and I had bad performances in SPA on a 36players MP session monday (even there were less than 30 players at this time) I just bought a 970 GTX and will plugg it tonight, I'll be able to see if it make a real difference for this particular issue
I have a GTX 970 (with i7 6700K) and it doesn't even have a problem with 100 cars on Nordschleife in SP. yesterday with 36 people on Nordschleife in Multiplayer was very fine and absolutely no problems. FPS constantly way over 60 FPS at maximum video settings
Indeed, it was really time for me to change the 660Ti (even more since I have a 3440x1440 @ 100Hz screen )
Yesterday Evening got this crash with Fatal Error Message while driving on Nordschleife. After the crash everything works fine again.
