S3 had mentioned once that they want to merge GTR2 with GTR1, that is even worse. I rather see GTR2 and GTR3 merged into one than with GTR1.
@rad: IMO moving wouldn't fit. The M1 in R3E is a Procar based on a Streetcar (ok historically it is vice versa) with a self-supporting chasis, while Group5 is a sihlouette-series with a tubular-frame. There was a Group5 M1 but that looks and was totally different
I rather see them separate but that suggestion was posted on a couple of threads by S3 staff. Thats why it concerns me.
I say keep the M1 where it is unless the actual G5 model is made in addition to what we have. Personally, I would rather have single make classes that are as close to their real counterparts as possible than a group of cars that are artificially BoPed to all meet in the middle. I liked the Daytona Prototypes in their own class as well as the Radicals. I'm looking forward to the AI selector because of this. These conversations about what to to with gtx, gt1 and 2 are making me nervous. I would almost rather see all the cars that don't fit from the gtx and german nationals be put into their own non balanced "TrackDay" class. Might not be popular for actual online races but could be fun to hotlap with other people.
I'd like to assist to this. As we could easily combine different classes in mixed class fields it doesn't make much sense to me to mix them up instead of keep them separate as individual classes. I think the original classes in R3E represent one of the many big advantages it has over competitors as there are often artificial mixed classes because they lack of true multiclass possibilities. Just give us the possibility or data to get a class wise result table and I am really more happy with what we still have.
Nothing against the merge of classes. As long as it makes sense. Thus, when a BMW M1 comes into the group 5, then please not the Procar version. The Cup is great and make lots of fun.
Not really the thread for this, but seeing as the topic is on the table: I wouldn't mind the M1 being balanced with the 935 and other Group 5 cars, but also wouldn't object to it being kept in a separate class. Then, when the opportunity to mix classes and select AI arises, I can mix and match to my heart's content. Also looking forward to doing this with the DTM92 and TC classes.
I don't think so, as the ADAC GT Masters 2015 pack/Experience is announced for "later this week". I doubt they will publish two different things in a week?
The Tatuus F4 should also be very near, so next week will be exciting what we get (assuming we get something of course)
