It is because of the upcoming patch, I didn't know the exact patchdate and what will be changed so far ahead so I left some room. Gridmails have been sent. 6 servers, that is pretty decent I think. "Race Name" and Claus Uebach, your inbox is full. Send me a PM if you want to race.
Standing start I sure wouldn't want to be at the back end of the grid, could be carnage. I hope everyone practices their starts!
As we don't have to confirm attendance (?) I hope all listed drivers will appear (no second thoughts plz )
with the compulsery pit stop , will this be a forced one (between x and x minutes) or will we be able to choose our pit stratergy ? thanks Andi
@claus.uebach: Ich habe dir eine Nachricht geschickt. @Andi Goodwin: Yes, it will be a forced pitstop and the pit window will be in the middle of the race (between 33% and 66% of race distance). You have to change at least two tires.
Are we too secretive to discuss pit strategy on here? I'm thinking front tyres and fuel at half way point should be fastest? Regarding pistops is AI control in pitlane allowed as I still haven't got the hang of coordinating everything at once?
For GT 4 you should only fuel up the minimum amount of gas required cause that takes a lot of time . With GT3 guess all models make it in time without refueling. With GT4 I checked out just changing front tires which results in a pretty imbalanced car behaviour , that all in all might cost you more time in the long run than changing all four tires at once.... Pitlane control sucks, Pitstrategy is the right pinch of salt for any Endurance/Multiclass Race...never would allow to give away control
What impact does fuel weight have on laptime though? Is it faster overall to take half a tank per stint? This is GT3 I'm on about btw. I will see if I can practice pitlane procedure in time for the race. Not bothered about position massively but don't want to give away 30s for nothing either....
first off remember you are forced to pit , so work out when the earliest and when the latest as mentioned above the pitstop is ... (between 33% and 66% of race distance). what is the fuel use per lap , so is it better to start out heavier or lighter , are you running long or short etc ... due to the forced timing of the pitstop some of the ability to have a stratergy has been removed , Andi
Ah it's too complicated. I'll just run half a tank and pit at half way and not worry then. I expect half the field will crash out anyway so finishing is the goal.
I hope not (with just 10 GT4 on the Grid) but guess that will happen anyway At least don't leave the Server ragequitting, specially the Streamserver, gives always a bad impression... Well yeah a certain limitation that doesn't leave much room for elaborate strategies....
Due to the time difference I need to get up at 3 o'clock midnight. By the end of the race you will be able to see the dawn from the window. For me it is a real endurance race.
I hope we can keep Robert motivated with a good attendance and fine racing to organize further (more S3-Community-oriented) Special Events apart from the usual e-sport business. Like many of you I'm around for some years and I'm quiet enthusiastic about to have some "international" events racing you guys.
