Not sure if there are any fans of the TDU games around here but the next game from Kylotonn Racing was just announced. It has been reported a new game was in the works for a while since the franchised was purchased from Atari. No real details yet, just confirmation of the name and a 1:1 scale island map.
I think there's at least 3 fans here Woke up to these news, I'm happy that it's finally completely official, but nonetheless I've got some increased concerns about the game. Of course I hope it will be good, but I'm not hyped up.
TDU was a great game, loved it. This Hawaii island was outstanding. Would love to drive a new TDU with descent physics and gameplay of the old one. It was then what Forza horizon is today. Maybe we get a good new testdrive, we will see
I was a huge fan of the first one and hated the second. Here's hoping this will turn up great, as in like Forza Horizon, without all the Forza 'cool bro' stuff.
Ya now I know why I can't stand that forza series. I would love to see a TDU with decent physics as well. TDU2 looked good but had even less driving enjoyment that the first one killed it for me.
I spent a lot of hours on Hawai, although the steering on my rig at that time was not perfect. But the recipe of the game caught me and drawed me in. Cruising and occasionally escaping or playing hide and seek with the the police in an open world setting. Great. I just hope they do not make it an exclusive MP game only. That would kill it for me. And decent steering and physics. Must and will not be on RR/ACC level, I know, and is not even needed. But the physics basics must be believable and must make sense. Pure arcade is another wrecker for this title. If not VR it must at least offer TrackIR. On Hawai, I found it to be essential.
The editing is epic, love it Says nothing about the game, though, but anyway. Doesn't seem to be any hidden messages this time. Shame, it was cool. But the fact they'll also have a Switch version is concerning.
Agreed, the team behind The Crew games seem better at making trailers than they are at making games. The TDUSC map won't actually be that much bigger than FH4 which is a bit of a disappointment but hopefully it will feel a bit more immersive than the empty wilderness that is FH4. The map size probably makes a Switch version possible with reduced detail.
If what I found on the internet is true, TDUSC map will be much bigger. It says FH4 has an area of 71 sq. km, while Hong Kong (all of it) has a land area of 1100 sq. km.
I read that SC is 1/20 of the map size of TDU2. So we will have to wait and see. But Kyloton... So i expect nothing... ^^
If these claims are only based on "Hong Kong Island" written in the teaser, I think it's a bit too early to judge. For me it's hard to believe they threw away one of the key features of the franchise, and they already spent a lot of resources on it.
