It's well documented here that the ToD transitions affect performance, so I run them fixed and have assumed that each option (Noon, Morning, etc.) gave the same stable result.

I've not changed my visual settings in a while now, and as long as I stay within certain certain AI number limits I maintain a solid 90+ fps for VR.. During a GT3 practice session on Imola (I think) I quit out to change cars, and while I was at it changed the ToD from Noon to Morning just for the hell of it.. That was enough to just dip me into sub 90. - I don't run ASW, so the drop to 45 is plainly obvious. I set it back to Noon, and was back to 90+.

Is this known/expected? If so, which is the most performant fixed ToD - Without much in the way of testing, it feels like it's Noon so far.

I'm guessing it's maybe the longer shadows in the other options requiring a larger map that's clogging things up a little?

Maybe it's the shadows? Lower sun = longer shadows could decrease the performance.
