Just a small thing, but it would be nice i think: if the Steering Angle would be in the Setup, not in Steering Wheel Settings as it is. In Macau/Laguna Seca for example ill drive 18° Other Tracks between 14-16. So i have to adjust it several times when track changes. Most of the time i go on Track, drive first round an then in the "special corners" i remember there was something to adjust....
Old thread but I will blow life into it again. If I feel more "comfortable" with a set steering angle of 640° what Steering lock should I use? I'v been through this over the years and only had to change the steering angle but never seen the "steering lock" option in a sim. What does it mean or what does it do? Here are is a thread I answered to in the ISI forum years ago about this. I have been searching for the answer to this for quite some time now and finally I did some real investigation and sort of got hold of the answer. IF... you are like me and want to drive rFactor like a simulator and "simulate" the feel and movement as realistic as possible this is what I found: GT cars in general have a steering lock of about 600-650° and the LMP cars 400-450° I have been talking to former Simbin CO and Race driver "Henrik Roos" and he gave me the answer for the GT car he drove in the FIA GT (Viper GTS-R) Martin Short from "Rollcenter Racing" helped me with the steering lock for the LMP2 they used in the "Le mans 2007" (Pescarola Judd LMP2) Here are some clips I found on you-tube as well. GT... (2.00 min in the clip) GT... (2.00 min in the clip) LMP... (1.50 min in the clip) https://forum.studio-397.com/index.php?threads/steering-lock.33463/page-3
For Macau or where it's needed, I increase both values proportionally so I don't have to change it back for other tracks. If default is 540/13 and max angle is 18°: 540 / 13 = 41 18 * 41 = 738 Final setup for all tracks: 738/18 But I agree this setting should go in car setup page.
Ahhh... Okay I think I get it. I have 640°/16 so I am not that far of. I took your numbers and the max steering for me would end up at 720° not to far from 738° or 656°/16 (correct would be 640°/15,6) Updated my wheel lock to 656°/16 and it feels good so far. Have to give it some time to evaluate and see if I will leave it at that or change it.
