I just got a call on my mobile. It was a nice lady(or so I thought!) checking up on me, probably from Sector 3. "We've been informed you've been involved in an accident that wasn't your fault." she said. 'Amazing' thought I. So I told her about the incident I was involved in at Zaandvoort last night. She hung up on me! How rude. TL: DR The online collating of safety data that Sector 3 introduced in the last update is going well, but their customer services department needs a little more training.
Contains 100% TRUE Facts. I made up the bit about thinking the caller was from Sector 3, and I have no knowledge of their customer services department, but I expect they are very nice people too. The conversation really happened. This morning. These cold callers are a bloody menace*, but I was at work, so I answered. *rather the companies that employ them are. TL: DR Yes. Just laugh and go about your business.
Hmmm, good point. Do you think they were just fishing? Why would they do that? What if I had a really bad memory (alcohol induced) and now I am worrying that maybe I was involved in an accident that wasn't my fault. And if I can't remember, how can I claim? I have potentially lost thousands because that damned bartender kept serving me. The system is stacked against us, I tell you.
Reminds me of the joke where the guy wakes up and there's a police car in his garage. That's the punchline, I can't be bothered to write the joke I imagine once you said "no, I didn't have an accident", the next move would be "what if you had"...
The latest scam is a caller trying to get you to say "yes" so they can record you and use this as proof of your agreement to whatever they are selling.
