The eSports WTCC has started, and the first online multiplayer races is approaching quickly. And there is no better place for the first round than the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, the track that hosted the first ever race of the World Touring Car Championship back in 1987, and also the first race of the new WTCC in 2005. Frenchman Yvan Muller has been the most successful driver on the track with no less than 8 race wins. And while the real World Touring Car Championship has to wait until April 30th for their Monza race, the virtual drivers will hit the track already on April 23rd. But first of all, it had to be determined who makes it onto the grid. No less than 2934 drivers attempted to qualify for the races on the leaderboard. At the front of the field, it was a battle of the Honda drivers. Germany's Alexander Dornieden from Impact Racing Team and the Argentine Juan Manuel Gomez from Factory Assault Team traded the lead several times in a dramatic battle over the first honours of the season. In the end, Dornieden won the leaderboard competition with a 1:49.647. Gomez even improved his time – but it was after the end of the session. Behind them, Tim Heinemann, Jan Stange and Nikodem Wisniewski rounded out the top 5. Around P24, the grid limit, it was even more dramatic. Cristian Moisescu from Romania took the final spot on the grid, just pipping Elisson Nazario Flauzino by 29 thousands. All 5 manufacturers will be represented on the grid, and it's anyone's guess who is going to come out on top. If you want to follow the action, be sure to turn in on April 23rd. At 17:00 GMT (14:00 Sao Paulo, 18:00 London, 19:00 Berlin), with live commentary by James Kirk and Robert Wiesenmueller for the races of division 1 and 2. Hi guys So, it will be my first race in RRE this Sunday, where can i find the server and join the race? Thx
As only the first 24 per division are invited, it seems to be possible that you are out. Not sure if there will be another round of invitations, when there are still free slots after the second round of invitations?!
Please please please... We just did a race on Monza and that was an absolut mess !! No respect, suicide overtakings, line changes in braking zones, crazy returns on track, ... Remember it's not an open lobby !! But an official "championship" streamed by good people ! Show the best side of Sim Racing to the whole world ! Please. It's in our interest.
are you sure there were people from the championship on there MADMAKC maybe there all trying to win the race on the first corner ... as usual
Division 1 probably will have clean and fair racing, Division 2 also should have, but 3 and 4 might be problematic, because there could be completely random people driving there.
Yesterday(17H GMT),I also participated in this race. There were other qualified players such as Jan Stange(Div 1),Stefan Fritsch(Div 2),Bence Raisz(Div 2) and Robert Wiesenmuller. *Link to download replay: http://www.mediafire.com/file/dk6qhenedtytlod/2017-04-21+Monza+Circuit+Grand+Prix_27.Vcr
This was not an official race. It was a independent test race on a private server, that was extremely laggy. In fact, it was so laggy that I abandoned the race on the first lap and started the official servers up again. The drivers will be reminded in the gridmail that they have to behave properly and show respect. Of course, they should do this all the time, but independent private test races have nothing to do with this league after all.
Random people were there of course, names from the eSports event were there too like Sébastien Degraeve said earlier. Some of the drivers were trying to win the race at the first corner for sure. Part of the past, focus on the future now, race tomorrow !
