Hey there support and everyone else! I have a rather big problem since the last patch (12.09.17). The game is not starting anymore at all. As soon as the steam message telling me that the game is started disappears, I am greeted with "Raceroom stopped working" notification. The litte box showing the 3 cars does not even appear and no crash dump is created. I am running a rather old system that worked perfectly until patch day. Intel Q6600 4x 2,4GHz Nvidia GTX 660 4GB RAM Win Vista Ultimate 64bit SP2 (as updated as it can be) The one and only thing that "changed" is the evening before patch day I purchased, downloaded (.zip file) and played Factorio. But seriously if that causes problems with R3E... What I have done so far without any success: Checked game's file integrity in steam Deleted UserData folder (no new one was created as the game doesn't even start) Checked that the OS is as up to date as possible (no updates available) Updated GPU drivers to the latest available Tried with different start parameters -cefNoBlacklist -cefNoGPU Cleared the steam download cache Reinstalled R3E Deleted Factorio Nothing helped and R3E is the only program/game I have trouble with! Appreciate all help but please don't tell me the system is bad and I have to upgrade xy, it runs R3E just fine! Also I am not messing much with the OS as I currently depend on it working with other programs and system requirements say Vista is supported! Thanks in advance!
Maybe you can have a look at the Windows Event-Viewer after a failed start of raceroom and check if there is anything from Raceroom. You can post the informations you might get here in the forum... little how to: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc749408(v=ws.11).aspx
There indeed is a failure loged! I try to translate to english as best as I can, not too familiar with technical terms regarding such pc things: Under the "General" tab: Faulty application RRRE.exe, Version 0.3.0.5994, time stamp 0x59b7b7d3, faulty module KERNEL32.dll!PowerClearRequest, Version 6.0.6002.19623, time stamp 0x56ec36a2, exception code 0xc0000139, failure offset 0x0006f7b3, Prozess-ID 0xddc,application launch time 01d3321ec72a05be. In German: Fehlerhafte Anwendung RRRE.exe, Version 0.3.0.5994, Zeitstempel 0x59b7b7d3, fehlerhaftes Modul KERNEL32.dll!PowerClearRequest, Version 6.0.6002.19623, Zeitstempel 0x56ec36a2, Ausnahmecode 0xc0000139, Fehleroffset 0x0006f7b3, Prozess-ID 0xddc, Anwendungsstartzeit 01d3321ec72a05be. The "Details" tab in XML view shows: - <Event xmlns="http ://schemas.microsoft.com/win/2004/08/events/event"> - <System> <Provider Name="Application Error" /> <EventID Qualifiers="0">1000</EventID> <Level>2</Level> <Task>100</Task> <Keywords>0x80000000000000</Keywords> <TimeCreated SystemTime="2017-09-20T14:43:12.000Z" /> <EventRecordID>219830</EventRecordID> <Channel>Application</Channel> <Computer>Computer</Computer> <Security /> </System> - <EventData> <Data>RRRE.exe</Data> <Data>0.3.0.5994</Data> <Data>59b7b7d3</Data> <Data>KERNEL32.dll!PowerClearRequest</Data> <Data>6.0.6002.19623</Data> <Data>56ec36a2</Data> <Data>c0000139</Data> <Data>0006f7b3</Data> <Data>ddc</Data> <Data>01d3321ec72a05be</Data> </EventData> </Event> I personally have NO idea what to read out of that, but maybe there are knowledgable people around. Thanks for the hint ! P.S.: R3E remains the only application not running, tried several other today too without problems.
hm, just to be clear - with reinstalled R3E you mean, you have deleted the old installation and did a complete new download of the game?
Deinstalled the game out of steam, deleted the simbin folder in "my games" (after backing up the old one), rebooted system, reinstalled freshly from steam (27GB or what). I am not sure anymore if I deleted any remains in the steam directory before the reboot and redownload.
hm, should be fine than... To be honest I fear that it has something todo with your Vista-Installation and the preperation for Raceroom moving to 64bit. @Kitsune Magyar is there any chance to test R3E on a Windows Vista in the studio? [Edit] Noticed that you've changed your name in the Forum - so now it will work with the Tagging ^^
Added to bug tracker. We suspect the new menu handling stuff (which removes need for -cefNoBlacklist-cefNoGPU by the way!) isn't compatible with Windows Vista.
Well shit! Looks like that's actually the case. And unfortunately it's out of our hands with it being Google Chrome tech. I'm sorry to say, Vista is no longer supported.
To say "that sadens me", is an understatement Thank you for letting me know! As of now I do not have the time to tinker with the system and even am dependent on it running like it does now. That leaves me no other choice but to say thank you and goodbye until an unknown time in the future maybe! Loved racing with all you guys!
