new guy to this sim, as I heard it went triples, I was in... I have not spent a lot of time yet in it, just some general laps to check out cars and tracks and plan to put some serious time in once my Christmas leave starts this week. BUT! The most obvious and very disappointing thing is the flames of the exhaust... using the ‘X’ texture is flaming horrid lol... (see what I did there . ) I really really hope it’s on a to do list to do some major improvements as it’s really a let down for something you spend a lot of time looking at (the back of the car in front.) Other than that I’m loving what I have experienced so far, loving the junior open wheeler.
Lol. That’s laughable. It’s easily worse than iracing and AC not to mention project cars. But I’m not here to argue just saying what I think.
*lol* strange how different tasts could be... I don't know much about iRacing, but the Sprite-flames in AC were so ridiculus that modders created a "realistic Flames-mod" for it and that strange and slow animated things in pCars are barely noteable as flames... But for sure - some optimizations in R3E are always welcome...
You have your opinion, but do you really think the flames are bad in the clip m.bohlken posted above? Maybe I need to look closer to the other games (I don't play AC that much).
Personally, I think R3E ones looks quite nice. There are a wide variety of different flames for different cars where some games like AC or Pcars have more limited flame sprites. AC's 3D flames are quite ugly to be honest.
In the context of my post I’m talking about following cars (not watching side on to the ‘X’ textures. Just like trees they look ok when looked at side on but looking top down all U see is X just like most rear facing exhaust in this sim.
Totally true. If you're in the axis of the flame, all you see is the X shape. I'm annoyed as well but not much can be done at this point. They only look good when viewed from the side.
Start at 2:20, but TBH this doesn't bother me so much because I use cockpit cam 99% of my time in RR (only when i startup an engine I use "behind car" cam). In replays, however (i like to watch replays because of amazing sounds ) sometimes i see that "x" animations of the flames but no big deal.
You wrote something negative about raceroom. In general this is punished here from the self-styled blue helmet troops.
I'm probably the biggest moaner about the game, believe it or not Starting a career as a player, then betatester and then QA lead makes for picky producers later down the line.
Well I feel it's important if you are close racing with someone to know if the person ahead is ON or OFF throttle (No brakes) If you can see that excess fuel burst in to flames you know his OFF throttle coasting the corner and you might have to do the same to not bump in to him.
