Ha, I was thinking someone must have the Blancpain licence because Raceroom and PCARS have both been conspicuously leaving off the logos on their cars. Thought it would be GTR3 but evidently not.
Assetto Corsa Competizione, the new official game of the BLANCPAIN GT SERIES, an official grand touring racing series, named after world-renowned Swiss watch manufacture Blancpain and organized by SRO Motorsports Group, will be speeding onto Steam Early Access this summer. Featuring an extraordinary level of simulation quality that allows players to experience the unique atmosphere of this GT3 Series, players can compete against official drivers, teams, cars and circuits with the highest level of accuracy and attention to detail. Taking full advantage of Unreal Engine 4, Assetto Corsa Competizione will ensure the highest quality rendering with photorealistic weather conditions and graphics to reach a new standard in driving realism and immersion racing. Players will experience highspeed torque as they get behind the wheel of luxurious speedsters including Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens and many other prestigious GT cars reproduced with an outstanding level of detail. Motion capture technology is used to create the animations of mechanics and drivers in an even more realistic fashion and guarantee a high level of player engagement during races, pit stops and driver changes. In the final version of the game, players can expect advanced multiplayer functionality with Assetto Corsa Competizione, including a ranking system which will evaluate individual performance and driving behavior to reward the most virtuous drivers and promote fair play in online competitions. Stay tuned for more information... #Blancpain1735
Well, I assume SimBin has a proper answer for this then. Because so far, this game is everything I hoped GTR 3 would be.
"Thanks to Laserscan technology, every official circuit is recreated with the utmost accuracy: all curbs and details perfectly fit their real counterparts to grant a gaming experience as faithful to reality as possible." "A well-structured ranking system will evaluate individual performance and driving behaviour to reward the most virtuous drivers and promote fair play in online competitions. The matchmaking function makes sure that you can compete with opponents of similar skill level and easily find online races to join, while the leaderboards will allow you to compare single-lap performance with virtual pilots from around the world with the same car, circuit and weather conditions." auch ....
Ouch, Sector 3. Looks like a hit in your face Unreal 4 Engine is there, Laserscanning technology, Assetto wasn't that bad and will become much better (Don't liked the optic of this game) Isn't this the Stuff, GTR3 has to be bad from? But as stated aboce: A bit less for a whole Racing Game. But could be that this is the first step to AC2
This is interesting, and could be abit of a game changer, and what direction is SimBin going to be taking..could be another exciting year for simracing once again.
That was definitely unexpected! Even if I wish Assetto corsa competizione the best of luck I'm fairly sure it will have the Assetto corsa physics which I am not a big fan of. But looks like GTR3 just got a tough competitor.
Okay, no pool game then. This was unexpected. A new contender in the ring, with enough potential (looks, lights, rain, weather, physics) to jump right to the top. They did it again. They landed a real big coup.
Why? Isn't this exactly what GTR3 was supposed to be? I wonder if this is the deathblow for GTR3 - the most important licence gone, a strong competitor using the same technology will be on the market earlier... I for one will certainly pay the full price for a fully licenced Blancpain game/sim (if it contained the full line up of cars).
I'm curious, if it will be "only" Blancpain GT Series or if there also will be Blancpain GT Series Asia and Intercontinental GT Challenge part of the game. Some more nice tracks and big racing events.
This quote from Marco seems to answer that Marco Massarutto, Co-founder and Brand & Product Manager of Kunos Simulazioni: “This announcement represents a dream come true for us. The Blancpain GT Series license is just the tip of the iceberg. By combining the potential of Unreal Engine 4 and the feedback received from our community, we are producing a completely new simulation aimed to redefine the racing game genre, improving the features that made Assetto Corsa so popular, and introducing those demanded by players for a high-level racing simulation game - with no compromise, and remaining loyal to our philosophy."
