I would love to see R3E have 5-10 oval tracks. I think taking a WTCC car or a formula car around an oval would be great. Will we ever see this?
I guess the problem is the very different racing style on ovals, isn´t it? Wouldn´t they need to basically code a complete new AI-Behaviour for ovals?
It would be nice but I doubt that it will ever happen … after 5 1/2 years of R3E we have just 5x US tracks … the primary target group of Raceroom are sim racers in Europe, but these are not very interested in oval racing. That's why I wrote a e-mail to iRacing regarding a laser scanned version of the "EuroSpeedway Lausitz" oval.
I do not see a problem with Ovals, it is not “easier” just a diffferent style of racing. It would open up a bigger market for sector 3
Why make something when iRacing already has a stranglehold on oval racing. R3E still does not have the correct cars for it, and at the same time they have to add a bunch more code to deal with Yellow flags and the AI, otherwise, it is kinda pointless outside of some MP lobbies.
While I like oval racing and wouldn't mind seeing it in R3E. It would require alot of work to be any good.
I would rather like to have a very long open world track (e.g. Targa Florio ) for recreation after a hard day.
Nah, I really dont care about ovals. Asymmetrical Setups and Physics would be needed aswell. There are sooo many things which will have higher priority.
Fully agree! But until they change the engine and add track rubbering and looses surface physics it would be pointless.
