I have the server running on my game PC -- 192.168.35.20
I have my router configured with port forwarding (the zhone router calls it virtual server)
    firewall temporarily disabled too

    external 60000 UDP -- to -- internal 60000 UDP 192.168.35.20
    external 60001 TCP -- to -- internal 60001 TCP 192.168.35.20
    external 60002 UDP -- to -- internal 60002 UDP 192.168.35.20

It should be this simple right?
So what is the deal here?
    • My server name appears in the multiplayer server list
    • I can select and get to the car selection screen
    • When I click on the car, it depressed a bit then a pause then SERVER NOT RESPONDING
    HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you trying to connect to the server from Raceroom on the same network the the Dedicated is running on?

I had this problem, gave me headache, only way I could get it to work was forward each port individually and not in blocks, sounds weird but works so not gonna question it. I'm in UK with BT Router.

I had this problem too, the solution? Click on that livery u want many times! Sometimes it's connect at the first time and sometime after like 10 or more clicks on the livery but it works ;) Try to ignore that Error ;)

i am pretty sure that if he doesn't see a ping this will not work.
But hey i could be wrong.

Just tried it on same network were i would get the error and clicking on it for 10 minutes does not change a thing.
If however i connect from outside of the network. I do see a ping and can connect to it.

TY Tim. Do you know what "enable LAN loopback' does, and are their any inherent 'quirks" with DSL / Routers / ISP?

    Got raceroom dedicated server working!

Although I did before (without luck) what I thought were mostly the exact same setting you showed me --- I copied yours exactly except for two things:
    1) Made the internal ports match the external ports (you had zeros)
    2) Enable LAN loopback (checkbox on my DSL ZHONE Router)
I successfully connected to my server using the same PC, and a friend in Australia joined in as well.
    TY TIM!

    Greetings,

After trying all techniques to setup the dedicated server, i still continue to not to join my own server.

Dedicated Server running on Desktop with Win7 (lan)
RaceRoom Experience running on Laptop with Win10 (lan)
Router is a Huawei HG8247H on Vodafone server

The 2 computers have static ip
Port Foward is configurated for both computers
LoopBack Adapter is installed on Desktop with win7

My server appears on server list in raceroom with 0 ping and i can´t join.
At the moment i tried everything explained in here and tried to search for new explanations or other way to configurate the loopback adapter, tried them and doesn´t wont to work. Is it possible that win10 has some configurations turned off? Has i researched i understood that win10 has some configurations off comparing to win7, but at this point, all of this is getting confused in my head and starting to fill lost on this issue.

I would be glad if someone can give other point of view on my problem.

    Thanks!

I suggest you consider only one PC works , and see if it works , I suggest Win 7 as there were no problems in the past, then try everything on Win 10

    My Desktop doesn´t support Raceroom Experience :( It´s a core2duo)
But i can tell you that i had tried only on the laptop (win10) and after installing loopback i could enter in my server, but don´t know if it was stable because of the ping bug that existed.
I´m configurating the server on win7 because there are many advices to not use the server on the same machine that we are playing and because i was always having browser popups with race results taking me off of the game.

    Thanks for your advice!! :D

    Update:

Yesterday i tried the server on win10 and i can connect but others drivers can´t, gives the "no response from server" error.

Is anybody working with the server on win10 without problems?

Yes I have it working on Windows 10, I can join on the same network and othersee can join.
But I had to enable loop back on the isp router and that was a challenge since my provider telus decided that this was a locked function.
