I truly understand that backwards compatibility is something that should be included. Unfortunately with RaceRoom not including backwards compatibility with their new release there is nothing we can do about this. We have asked about backwards compatibility, but so far it hasn't been incorporated into the sim.

Our pricing structure is designed to allow flexibility when the user purchases the software (they can go for just the software, or include an update subscription, or purchase updates as desired.) It is also designed to allow for us to pay the developers for their time to create the updates. Without that the software would not be able to be developed and improved.

If I owned a vehicle that required an ecm update at the dealer , I would expect to be able to drive that car home. Not pay a fee for them to release my car. Anytime there has been an api update from raceroom , apps have updated to keep pace with the game at no extra charge.
