Server 3 crashed...

 

What happened with Server 3 ?

 

It's back.

 

(Server 2) Welp, game crashed when I adjusted my TC level while on the Parabolika. First time this happens in 168 hours of game time. I hope my car didn't ruin anyone else's race while I was wondering what was happening.

 

Conclusion of the season: Great championship, great racing but what really has to be fixed is the slow down penalties and the crash physics. You can only get rid of slow downs when you instantly smash the brakes to almost a complete stop otherwise you'll lose more than 10 seconds.
Crash physics... please have a look into that. It has been like that for such a long time now.

Just have a look at that. The RR crash physics dont make any sense at all. The smallest of contacts can send you into another universe or it just doesnt make sense when someone hits my front and my rear goes spinning.

Other than that I'm really looking forward to the final at the Bodensee. See you guys there!

 

Sorry for what happened with Server 3. I restarted it as soon as it was clear that it died, but there is no way to restore the racing order or quali results. Just FYI, in future leagues, official way of communication is always via E-Mail. There I inform you if we restart the server and what happens in case of problems.

Agreed. Honzik lost 6 places over a 2 second penalty because of this (@1:10:15):

you better shouldn't provoke penalties and above all you have to learn to sit them off. you have 60 seconds and you have to get off the race line.

 

These top guys use every inch available (sometimes slightly ridiculous, couldnt watch the red bull ring race because they were taking such weird lines ) so a slowdown every once in a while is almost inevitable.
But what happened to jardier has nothing to do with not knowing how to serve the penalties. He was crawling along off the racing line but the time just didnt decrease. Might be a bug since i remember there being a thread about similar issues at hockenheim.
Personally i havent encountered too many slowdowns in the recent past so i dont know how exactly they work at the moment but last time i played around with them a bit you had to slam the brakes immediately or the time would just increase more and more even though you didnt gain any longer because of the off track which certainly needed/mightve already received improvement. Forgot where i wanted to go with this but whatever
