First of all hi all! Since that update a few days ago i have random crashes on my dedicated server. It works a few races and then all players were kicked(lost connection). Especially frustrating when it's at the start of a 30 drivers race. There is a warning in the RR multiplayer tab, shown on picture Does anyone have an advice or same problems?
We suffered similar on our main league race, Saturday from 21:30 GMT. We managed about 10 mins of qualy, before everybody was kicked.. then same again for a second time. So, we ended up cancelling the race and decided to try some short random races instead, it held up okay afterwards, but player count was a little less than the main league race was. I'm not in control of the server, so can't post any info, but just wanted to add an "us too".
ok, then im not the only one. the srs races having such problems too, i think. all players were kicked in 2 races at random times Paul, do i have to send the files that has to be in c:\win\minidump? cause this folder is empty in my windows
@madhatter You will find them in - documents/my games/simbin. There is a folder called crashdump or something similar.
Thank you paul, i found it. Server was running without crash for 2 days. 2 min ago connection was lost again
Hey - I've linked our crash dump files from Saturday along with some others - linked from cloud storage since the file is 300MB still. Everyone got kicked just after qualy started (after initially a 3 hr practice session running without problems) and then a further 2 times. So 3 times in a row and our league race had to be abandoned. In addition came on today and the server GUI looked like this: I restarted the full server app and it's still the same. In the process of troubleshooting. Server has been the most stable racing game server I've used until now so hope you can get to the bottom of it quickly. Hell I'd take a full rollback as prob have to put the league on hold until it's fixed. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AsnFlQ86chNJj8EXb-GA7NkSddXi6Q - Crash dumps. Cheers.
I've re-created all our server instances from scratch. There is a chance it might stabalise things since it's not using the server config from before the patch. Will let you know how it looks after a few days running. Looks like we have been getting multiple crash dumps per day after the patch so if they stop, tis a good sign
I did that already, last time yesterday. Had hope until it crashed again after 30 hours without any issues.
Update - Got one day without crashes after server re-install but last night gave up racing Raceroom as had 2 in short succession. Also a few other observations worth sharing encase relevant. When it happens, just before you get kicked, everyone switches from cockpit to bonnetcam. In addition the game moves to the next track if one is setup. Finally I think player count is relevant in some way. Only seems to happen when it goes above about 15.
I think thats true, less drivers=less crashes. Yesterday my server worked all day without any problems with 15-28 drivers. With over 28 drivers it feels more unstable. I think the server has problems with managing and processing when there are too many requests. Update: after 1,5 days it crashed now again with only 10 drivers on server
Updated server code out - top marks to S3 for the swift turnaround. Unfortunately already cancelled the league race but will give the server a right good thrashing asap and report back
