The use of simplified AI physics is nothing to do with the graphics. Its actually to do with the physics as the SETA tyre model in PC2 is particularly demanding in terms of processor power and cannot be run on the AI as is also the case for rF2s tyre model. Use of simplified AI physics is not unusual in sims - the old Papyrus games like NASCAR2 003 use simplified AI physics. All the ISIMotor 2 sims such as rFactor, GTR2, RACE 07 etc use simplified AI physics and indeed Raceroom uses simplified AI physics. The exceptions are AC and ACC (and LFS?) which have a simpler (not necessarily worse) tyre model but which struggle with large grids.

no matter how, the scripted AI never fit. in the dry ok, in the rain then too fast or too slow. I hope that Reiza gets better or does not have the same problems with it.
in the MP that is no problem against human drivers but in the SP.

I think it will be difficult for AI to handle puddles. As a human you quickly learn which puddles you can drive through, which you can partially drive through and which to avoid, which of course is also affected by whether you are still on slicks or on wets. And you adapt as the puddles grow and shrink. Getting the AI to do this will not be easy.

Well the ai actually has access to all the raw simulation data, so the harder part is probably making them believable human.

We need "neural AI" so they can learn to get better by themself.

both videos don't really thrill me. (nice sky transitions, though)
Sounds are putting me off (now that we have ACC AND R3E there must come more..and we know Reiza can make good sounds) :p

I know I know... developing phase... still 5 months to go... :D but time's running fast.. faster than you'd like (as we all saw in WMD2 with Pcars2).

But on the other hand, Reiza is famous for missing deadlines set by themselves, so who knows...:D

I actually like the video. The sound isn't on r3e or ACC standard, but it is much better than pcars 2 and is around the AMS1 level.
But what I like is that the car looks very compliant under abuse, and doens't display the typical pcars 2 floatiness, so they are definitely focusing on the handling.

Having AMS handling with pcars 2 features would result in an excelent sim. I've been playing pcars 2 a lot more recently and the dynamic weather is stealing the show for me. Mainly the temperature variety, as it heavily affects what tyres you can use, and how much hard you can drive them. And with the inbuild ability (with a little bit of workaround) to use current real weather, you really never know what you're are getting yourself into.

A bit off topic, but does that pcars2 real weather work-around still work? Does it need updating?

Some people have found that adjusting the cockpit camera settings eliminates the "floaty" feeling they get with PC2. PC2 by default has a lot more camera movement than R3E or AMS. In Options - Camera - Movement tab - try reducing g force effects to 10% or less and increase world movement to 100%.
