27" or higher if you do any office job apart from gaming go for 1440 because of screen space, 144hz is well worth money. Personally bought a week ago 32" curved Samsung 144hz monitor which I connect to 1070 and runs extremely well, highly recommended

I have found this: LG 34UC79G

21:9, 1080p, 144Hz, curved, reasonable price. VESA. (that is a must for me)

I bought the C49HG90DMU last October :/ old game engines like the one from Raceroom or rFactor2, Iracing are looking ok, ACC is a pixel mess

What do you mean by pixel mess?

I mean bad Anti-Aliasing. ACC for example looks like the picture of a Oculus Rift to me. Raceroom for example looks super smooth, no AA issues at all. But all the games that are based on the Unreal Engine are looking bad because of the AA. DiRT Rally 2 is also not nice. It either looks jagged or blurred, flickering of road marks and stuff like this.

Curious (as I would like to try running on a 32" monitor at times when it's too humid to wear the CV1), what FOV do you use in-game, 100%?

For the Samsung C49 I can say I run more FOV than a FOV calculator will tell me. A realistic FOV feels to slow too me. The sense of speed is gone.

How much does the frame rate drops with the new monitor compared to the old one? Is this mainly my biggest concern. I mean in Raceroom I can max out everything. But how about ACC. Even with a RTX 2080 Ti I only get 90 fps with high out ultra settings. How is the frame rate with the 5K monitor?

You have a sample shot showing your view with that 49" monster?

My fov is currently 0.6. A fov calculator said 0.5 is the right one. My eyes are approximately 60 cm away from the monitor. But with 0.5 I have the feeling I'm not moving forward, the sense of speed is totally gone. With 0.6 I'm faster as well. But I guess it just a personal choice.

Is there no 32:9 option as that is that screens native ratio?

Yes, I think there is no 32:9 in Raceroom. Since the last update the HUD has a weird position. Before it was at the bottom of the screen. No clue what happened. I'm using the new web-overlay as well because is better and the scale is not that large.

I always had a little smile left for those "nerds" who argue about framerates, benchmarks or 60hz vs 144hz Monitors, but recently my sister-in-law showed me the difference in smoothness on her fav game....well got hooked then. One reason I didn't care much is that I've been always happy & used to with medium end hardware (1080p). but even on this level it makes such a difference that its worth to upgrade without spending a fortune. Only question, would be about any performance drop at 144hz ? (GTX 1060 6GB, Ryzen 5 1600 X, 27 inch Monitor)

Im running an It 4570 with a Rx 580 which is around that performance level. Able to run above 144fps with 20 cars and maxed out. Only sacrificing Shadows or Reflections (cant max out both without having fps drop to the 70's.) I dont know how i ever tolerated screen tearing before.

Only regret about upgrading to 144hz was not going for an ultrawide option. (but then when i bought it there was no real graphics card around capable of powering most games on that config.)

My next upgrade aims at 160hz + ultrawide with the accompanying freesync/gsync.

    Thx Matt ;).
Usually can run up to 50 AI's almost maxed out (opponent Detail on medium, FPS vary from 50 to 100+ FPS). NoS with shadows off (which also looks nice at Afternoon/Evening ) up to 75 AI's with FPS around 50 at start/passing pits (16 GB Ram), but thats the limit for smooth Gameplay.
