Out of interest what tyre model is raceroom on. I always thought maybe a slight updated one from race 07 or gtr2, but would be keen to know where it sits among current sims?

I mean it still lacks compared to the likes of acc, ams and rf2.

I think ISI moved away from single point contact tyres with the original rFactor in 2005, so I'm pretty sure RR doesn't use single point contact physics. I wonder if Sector 3 could confirm this?

    R3E uses a 6 point tyre model.

It's Pacejka based with 6-segment elements.

I'll take the opportunity to ask in this thread instead of creating another one, what are the tyre model in Race 07?
    Thank you in advance.

A more basic version of what we're using now, quite similar to rFactor.

So R3E tyre is more advanced than the newest sim on the block ? Talk about kicking them while they are down:p
Love how R3E just keeps going from strength to strength :)

Edit for while not whole, lol

What is the difference between pacejka and the ACC one ? Just 6 point vs 5 point or is it a completely different system ? Would like to know how this works in r3e, they explained it pretty well for ACC

Hmmm... guys, I'm pretty sure Scout comment was just a Spinal Tap joke and Raceroom does not have a 6 point tyre model :p

But the official statement = 6 Segment , so I believe it's not really a joke if I understand this correctly :)
(depending on what 6 Segment Pacejka really means)

I'm completely out of my element here, but if I understand correctly, Assetto Corsa uses a more modern\advanced tire model (in theory) that physically simulates the tyre carcass (like iRacing, rF2 and PC2, altough all with different levels of complexity), while the Pacejka is an older, less complex model, used (I think) in rFactor 1, GTR series and AMS, so the 6 segments mentioned by Alex shoulnd't have any relation with the 5 points in ACC.

But maybe @Alex Hodgkinson could explain what he means by "6 segments", since I would like to know as well. I'm only posting stuff I read in other places so I might be wrong.

Whatever AC and ACC use, I felt a much better feedback in Race 07, hence why I switched to R3E, as it has at least some online and is constantly developing.

Not gonna argue there... complexity doesn't always mean everything ;)
