I've spent a couple of hours yesterday trying to figure out what I want to buy and how to fit it all in 5000 VRP voucher. Mission impossible. Track packs alone are around 3000 points... any chance R3E would have a promotion for Labor Day?

You could buy the discounted 10 000vrp pack from the webstore for €65 and then go all in with full content.

Yes, I figured that this is probably the way to go - buying just the track packs and a couple of cars pushes the price to over 6000 VRP. Question is whether any sales will be happing any time soon - if so, I'd rather wait it until then...

Well i guess we can expect a black firday sale but thats another 2 months from now. Given that the summer sale ended not too long ago there might not be another sale before black friday but its all guesswork

Yeah, I've been playing since January 2017, and I've seen a lot of stuff come in my time.

    Oh.
I've been learning on the M3 E30 and feeling quite proud of myself.

Are the m235 closer to 'the real thing' than the M3?

As I said, the current e30 is on the very oldest physics in game. It's overly forgiving and not very realistic at all. That said, it's still fine for learning the basics of racing line etc.

The m235i is on much newer physics so reacts much more like a real car would.

In all honesty, drive the cars you enjoy the most, it's just a game after all.

I think the DTM cars are really good starter cars as they aren’t that hard to drive and glued to the tarmac.

Yeah, until you reach the limit - where you begin to regret your decision....
    - m235i would be a good choice (as suggested)
    - gt3 as well, as they have TC
    - gt4 as long as you can adapt to the porsche and the x-bow, both are special, like the modern DTM cars are
and, yes, the old DTM /TCs while not very representative in terms of actual RRE physics...
