Club Format Beginning April 7, 2020

Thanks to everyone that has participated in our America’s Club over the past nine months, the dedication from all is appreciated as I personally look forward to challenging myself against some of the best racers I have encountered…bar none.

Over these months I have tried to bring a variety of cars and tracks to sample some of what R3E has to offer, some were not necessarily one’s favorite or first choice but most were accepted as ‘well that was different’, or ‘glad I gave it a try’ but never disrespectful. And I thank you for your support.

I am now going to try mixing it up a bit more by introducing the following changes. These changes will go into effect with the April 7th event and apply to all races going forward. These changes are to promote strategy a bit more by increasing the tire wear factor and adding a bit more time to the race. Also give everyone a chance to get acclimated to a car over a period of time.

• A single car class will be selected and run for four consecutive weeks at tracks that are favorable to the performance of the car.
• Cars that will likely be rotated, and are considered favorites by most, are GTR 3, GTR 4, DTM 2016, GTO Classics, Group 5, Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, P2, FR 90. This may change based on overall response from club participants.
• Races will be increased by 5 minutes to 45
• There no longer will be Fixed Setup races, although we tried a few, most rather turn a wrench and are happy to share.
• Mandatory Pit Stops will no longer exist
• Full Damage will be in effect; this will include flat spotting of tires, suspension, aero, engine and transmission.
• Tire wear will be increased to 2x to increase the probability of a pit stop and put an emphasis on ensuring that setups don’t chew up the tires.
• Pits Stops will be by choice due to necessity for damage, fuel or tire wear

First car in the rotation will be the one we started with the club with back in July, the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup and at the same track we started with the Red Bull Ring followed by Zandvoort, Bilster Berg and ending with Zolder.

I hope these changes will be accepted by the usual suspects as well as bring some back for another go.
