My tire temps are almost always too cold

It seems to happen to me in this sim a lot. Most of the time I'm struggling to raise the tire temps. I've tried lowering the pressure fiddling and with camber and toe, but I'm usually on cold tires. especially in the GT cars which tend to be my favorites. Maybe I need driving lesson to heat the tires.

Anyway any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Fronts, rears, lefts, rights or all?

    More pressure = more temps

More pressure= higher tems in the centre of the tyre.

It varies from car to car. Fronts more than rears on rear wheel drives. But yah all tires usually.

unless something has changed or I'm mistaken I recall @Alex Hodgkinson stated that tire temp has no effect on performance

Ducman is mistaken, unless something has changed or I'm mistaken I recall that it was said that too low tyre temps are not as big a problem for grip as too high tyre temperatures.

What values do you get with the DTM92 Audi at Brands with default setup? Front left and rear left should be well into the red.
Silhouettes on Portimao and Sepang should also have very hot fronts.

Tyre temps should affect immediate grip but also long term wear during a race. A tyre running too hot will wear out quicker than a cold one resulting in less grip over time.
Some cars still don´t have adjustable pressures and are on older tyre physics models so perhaps in this case there is less performance impact.

    You having a laugh!
Tyre temps have no effect on performance my arse!
What's the sodding point of having them then?
    Jeez!

I should clarify, I believe it was heat does not contribute to tire wear. Tire wear does effect performance.

Heat definitely does contribute to wear. Test any car around Brands and front left will be in the red and wear out faster than the front right. Or check the rears on the WTCRs - wear is pretty non existent compared to the fronts, which have to steer, drive and brake the cars.

Tire wear is not directly related to the temperature. This is because more energy is put into the tire which increases both the tire temperature and the tire wear.

That´s my point. As we can´t directly adjust the tyre temp in this game (only pressure and only on some cars), a tyre which is runnning hot is a sign that a higher proportion of energy is going into that tyre and the consequence is higher wear.

Shouldn't it be the other way around? Considering you're still within the tyre optimal pressures. Less pressure means more rolling resitance and more tyre deformation, which should translate into more heat generated, which should translate into higher temperatures.

I know it doesn´t sound plausible, but it is so in reality.
Here a part from Toyo tyres:
Increasing your tyre pressures will cause your tread temperatures to increase, more pressure stiffens the tyre’s casing which results in the tread having to do more work resulting in the tread getting hotter. Lowering your pressures will cause them to decrease.
