Of course the tyres are slipping...maybe a tad to much, though. But without at least a bit of wheelspin, you can't generate optimized starting. Another reason could be reaction time, btw...
I think the launch control in the DTM 2020 cars is just a substitute for the clutch pedal. The real cars don't have a launch control feature, and the launch control ingame doesn't limit your revs either.
The real cars do have a form of launch control actually, see the video below. The give away is the way he starts with full throttle yet the engine isn't bouncing off the limiter;
This apply to the Audi TT 2016 as well? Just used it again recently and few cars behind overtook during start. Perhaps TC, or maybe better to just manually modulate? Not sure what I'm doing incorrectly (honest question . Just started using R3E again recently.
I have noticed a "jump" in RPM and wheelspin yesterday, after 1 second green lights, full throttle. I was starting the DTM 2020 at Monza, while at Spa the rpm stayed consistent under Launch Control. So i can confirm the Launch Control sometimes gives more unoptimized wheelslip for some reason. It was the Audi RS 5, Monza, full grid, P2 and P1 starting box and full throttle application. Could it have a connection to the gearing?
When you hold the LC button, you start at optimal rpm while standing when throttling full. This is the case since the ISI F1 games already...
I'm new to the game and I'm going to buy the DTM 2020 Pack but I have also one question. Do AI drivers have their realistic performance so for ex. Müller, Frijns and Rast are more often in front of the pack or is it completely random?
Are they also different in aggressivity? And are they also on "cold tyres" on the race start? (I have the impression, they can dive the corners way quicker the first lap)
I don't know, I read through the technical regulations and it doesn't seem like a launch control would be allowed: https://www.adac-motorsport.de/docs/dtm/2019/static/145/2019_DTM_Technical-Regulations.en.pdf The drivers also don't mention a launch control: https://www.speedweek.com/dtm/news/142107/Keine-Handbremse-mehr-DTM-Stars-wie-die-Anfaenger.html
Not a lot can be deduced from going through that. The same document says the below about anti-lag systems and we definitely know they are very much in use..
Maybe the regulations changed, but I can't find a 2020 rulebook unfortunately. The thing is that Kubica doesn't press a single button during the start in the video above.
Nice video. When capturing the replay for external shots you may want to turn up the visible cars....it looks weird with the cars popping in and out....
