So built pc in sig wich ran fine for last few weeks. Replaced cooler today and the cpu stuck and pulled from the socket. Checked for bent pins etc all good, cpu seated nice and easy so I built on, only slightly nervous. Finished all tidy and I boot up but no display? Check obvious inputs , cables etc all fine. Reseated everything in case tried again, nothing. Removed all components and rebuilt without gpu, still no display. Removed cooler, reseated cpu to double check, fired up, no display. Removed cmos battery for 20 mins, rebuilt, no display. Not got another cpu or mobo to try and at my wits end now. Hopefully someone may have some suggestions please
Silly question but I presume when you say can boot up you can see the initial BIOS screen, then nothing (prior to the windows display)? Have you tried entering the BIOS and ensuring all ports, etc.. are recognized? Good Luck
Thanks for reply. There was no bios screen, fans lights hdd etc all working, just no display. I fixed it. After about 4 strip and rebuilds, missed this every time. Turns out a very corner pin had a slight bend and didnt seat. Straightened with a mechanical pencil and a few scary reboots later, its up and running. Happy is not a word to describe how i feel
