Well, actually there are only two drivers available; one beta and one official WHQL. So nothing to choose from ;) except older 8.1 drivers or manipulated beta versions.
For me it's not really clear where it comes from, as people having at least similar hardware, experiencing different issues...

I'm actually considering going back to 8.1 for now.

This is tempting...have the little reminder in my task bar but just got my PC 100% perfect after fixing some issues. I run r9 290x's. Wasnt expecting performance boost on dx9 game but if it happens, great.

folks on win10, does a G27 work out of the box? everything I can find by googling it says it's hit or miss, and this is the only thing holding me back from installing the win10 beta

I've had no problems with my G27, just done a fresh install to get the windows 10 build 10130 and had 2 further updates (in 2 days) to bring it up to build 10159.
I do have profiler settings available if you need them too.

I'm assuming my existing profiler settings from win7 will still work, correct? most of the hits I got on google indicated that the drivers weren't ready

Drivers are fine, just make sure you get the right ones, first profiler I downloaded didn't work. I can dig out the link for you if you like? Make sure you back up your current profiler settings to a USB or something unless your just doing an upgrade?

I don't have an answer to your question but in my opinion based on your text above "win10 BETA" is the answer. I'm an IT director, have been for years, I would not consider upgrading systems with a new OS until tried and true let alone something still considered "beta"! I will install in a test environment but that's as far as I would go for the foreseeable future.

    You're completely right!
On the other side, RTM must be around the corner and the official release is three weeks away. As MS needs to start shipping final versions to the manufacturers very soon, most of the issues should have been fixed already. It should be more a matter of "fine-tune" now. I'm pretty excited if MS can manage it with the little time left...
There is still a big "bug" R3E suffers from: you can't go above 900p in resolution! It's not valid for all configs but I heard if from many people. No clue if it is Win10, R3E or graphic card drivers.

Overall, the most recent builds should work pretty well ... otherwise MS will have a problem;)

Can anyone report if the 900p issue is still present with this week's builds (10158/59/62)?

Thanks. I hope they get this sorted for the full release of Win10, whoever this issue lies with.

    Hi again guys,

I'm being told that resolution issues in Windows 10 started after their build 10122 which revised their startmenu. Can more people confirm this?

I'm running 10074 and all is good so it was definitely after that.

yes, with build 10122 i can play RRE in 3840, all builds after 10122 can´t change the Solution.
i testet it with build 10130, 10135, 10158 and 10159 and the highest Solution is 1440*800.
Now i play RRE in a Window Mod with 1440*800 :(

Not sure if it works for everyone, but seems I found a fix/workaround! ;)
The issue seems to be related to the refresh rate of the monitor/TV... As both, my monitor and the TV, are running at 60Hz, I didn't care about this value in the graphic settings, as it's not editable anyway. The standard is 60Hz for all selectable resolutions.

Now, ignore the settings of your display (keep it at 60Hz), and change the "graphics_options.xml" manually. It can be found under /documents/my games/simbin/Raceroom/userdata. Open it with the text editor.

Change to your desired resolution and edit the line for the refresh rate from 60 to 59:
    <custom type="uint32">3840</custom> <- x-resolution
    <custom type="uint32">2160</custom> <- y-resolution
    <custom type="int32">32</custom> <- color bit depth
    <custom type="int32">59</custom> <- refresh rate
    <custom type="bool">true</custom> <- fullscreen

That's it. The sim should run in the correct resolution
Going to the graphic options in-game, you will notice this is the only high resolution and the only one with 59 Hz. All the others remain as before; max 900p at 60Hz.

Hope, it helps and please leave your feedback here to verify this fix

    Cheers
    Alex
