Wheel button assignments set-up, save possible?

Please feel free to call me thick here, but is there a way to save your assigned buttons for each particular wheel you use?
I have a GT3 V2 and a BMW GT wheel which obviously have different buttons on them but I have to re-assign the buttons every time I switch wheels.
Is there a way to save the assignments for each wheel so I can just load up the file I want depending on what rim I'm running?
Like I said I'm happy to take an insult if I've missed an obvious way to do it

Do one save it , then using the original base do another save it under a new name
