I think Rep and Rating should be calculated on a average and not as a whole of latest race. This will show your actual score count what class a driver you are. Bad drivers crashing and not knowing the rules will always be in low rated servers. Better drivers will be with their own group of drivers more often and better races too. The craziness for a high rep drivers to have to go back to rookie and risk more points is wrong. That is like telling a star football player he has a bad day and get sent to the farm team, which won't happen.

Our footballers have hairdryers thrown at them just for having a squeaky voice, so don't be so sure!!

That depends on the server configuration, though. Overtaking under yellow flags can lead to a penalty if the server is configured accordingly.

The rating uses the Elo system which is based on your average performance.

Yeah, better have a cool head after some flattering combos. I once thought I could keep a rating close to 1900, LOL

    ARRANGE THIS PLEASE:

If a car hits you back without pressing brake from your part, it is not fair to rest 4 points to the victim! Today I had a race and a BMW (quite always clown people uses BMWs) did not stopping backing me until both were disclasified, just because I was entering better in curves but his car was faster in straights, so instead of try to pass me fairly arriving at the curves he backed me 8 times (and I was each time throtteling, never bracking) until both were out

Im sorry but the system isnt capable of doing this , it has been tried and it fails ,
If you believe the other driver was doing this intentionally , make a seperate post with the drivers name , and a link to the full video file and the drivers name , tag me and ill pass it on to the dev/stewards

As the reputation system won’t apportion blame, I think there needs to be some way of increasing the risk of damage to the cars to deter a driver from intentionally wrecking another someone. Yesterday I had a race at Suzuka on one of the rookie servers. Guy in front went wide before the long back straight, I made a move and we made contact but both kept the wheels pointing in the right direction. I made the pass but on the start/finish straight the other guy just corner bombed me into oblivion. Intentionally, no doubt. Saw him coming in the mirror from a long way back. I ended up in the gravel, lost plenty of places and reputation points. The other guy just sailed through it all, continued at the same pace as before and took third, I believe. Didn’t lose a position. If the damage system at least could randomly assign more severe damage than it does today and cripple the pace, it would be much more of a deterrent than just losing reputation points. As it is, it seems like you can afford an intentional wrecking once in a while without losing too much reputation.

If you believe it was intentional a report can be made , make a description upload a short video of the incident , add the full ingame video file , and tag me in the post , i will link it to the race stewards

Thanks, I know the possibility to report exists but personally, I’m not too keen on reporting and from what I understand, I don’t think Raceroom either is interested in being bogged down with the handling of a lot of reports. I think some adjustment to the damage system would make reporting less necessary and perhaps eliminate some calculated wrecking. Is the damage assigned in any way dependent on how many incident points you have racked up in a race?

Increassing dmg with the amount of incident points would be very artificial and harmful to the people that get a lot of piont being receiving side of the crashing.

Additionally, there are people that are only interested in wrecking, they don't care if they are out, they just want to put you out and increased dmg would make their live easier.

There's no way around, there need to be a way to bench someone. Like if you drop under 50 rep (or any other number that makes sense) you're banned from ranked for a week, then the lower you drop the longer the ban.

We look at reports everyday , they get checked and discussed most mornings and then if action is needed it will be taken , from a warning to an outright ban
So if ppl are deliberately wrecking we do deal with it

@Andi Goodwin, a question then... Do you want us to report this kind of behavior?

For me there are two types of wreckers, the ones that log in to wreck and if I see one I'll report it.
The second one is "out of frustration" still not ok, but at least they are there to race.

I had a where the guy slower than me was blocking me for about 2-3 laps. It was dirty. At one point I think I missed my breaking point and clipped him, he spun. He started writing something in spanish in chat, something about reporting me, then he waited for me on the S/F line and tried to take me out in T1, then logged out.

I don't have an urge to report him, to punish him, but if this is something you want to look at to possibly make the experience for others better then I'll report this type of behavior.
