Pit to car radio app available - work in progress

Right, new version's up on GoogleDrive now (still 1.6). I've only added a few of these sweary messages, so as they're selected at random don't be surprised if you don't get sworn at for a while. I can add more easily enough but I want them to feel 'right'. If you want to have a listen, just look for the wav files prefixed with "sweary_"

seriously though, it's a nice idea and I think the app will be a lot better having these in, once I dream some appropriately sweary messages

 

just found a little bug in the code which works out whether you need to pit on the current lap (checks best lap time + a bit against when the pit window's due to close). I've uploaded a new 1.6 package for this, with another sweary "haul ass or you'll miss the pit window" message

 

just squashed a couple of annoying bugs and added a last lap event for timed races, so we're now at 1.7. Hooray

Righty... who's feeling brave and wants to test version 1.8? I've added laptime reporting for qual sessions and gap reporting for race sessions. Reading out laptimes / gaps requires the app to assemble a time from little voice snippets ("one"... "twenty"... "two"... "point"... "four") so it sounds robotic. I'll re-record the number snippets with a little less lead in / lead out when I get an hour which should improve it a little but it's just not possible to get it to sound entirely natural.

There are also a couple of bug fixes in here. The reason this isn't on the first page is that it's not been tested enough

I received the last lap notification, but it seems it was based on my position in relation to my lap times and not the leading car, which crossed the start/finish with 11 seconds to go in the race, and therefore I was not on my last lap, only thing I've encountered so far, great work

Good find, i'll have a look at that event trigger and see if I can allow for the time difference between you and the leader

 

actually it's a bit more simple than that isn't it - the message is 'correct', but i just need to make sure it only triggers when you cross the start line. I think...

Fairman - you have a point there. I'm redone the gaps stuff and will be testing it shortly

 

Ah bugger, you're right, it *is* harder than I thought. I don't know the time gap between me and the leader so I've disabled this trigger unless you're leading

the hesitant lap time / gap reading was bugging me so I chopped the lead in and lead out off the number wave files. This makes it a little better when it reads your times and gaps (still not quite right - I might re-record these for the next version). I also fixed a rounding bug for the tenths of a second. Version's now 1.8.1, same link
