There is a lively discussion going on about this issue. http://steamcommunity.com/app/211500/discussions/1/558746745931176056/ Apparently some users experience the "app is already running" error everytime they run R3E, exit the game and then try to run it again. I really don't know who's fault it is, something wrong with the game or the steam client not handling things the way it should. Maybe @Mikael Hermansson or whoever knows more about this could have a look and shed some light on what's the cause and how it can be resolved.
I have that message every time I start the game, not sure why but, it doesn't impact how the game runs so I just close the dialog box and crack on lol. I think it's been discussed on the forum before too.
User Injun says it doesn't happen when running R3E for the first time after re-starting his PC. After that it happens every time, like something is being left in the RAM, the game not being deleted completely after exiting.
To anyone having issues with R3E hanging after having closed it, please follow these steps: Download Process Explorer from Microsoft. Extract it wherever and launch it. Reproduce the steps you normally take to get RRRE.exe to hang after having closed it. When it does - open Process Explorer, find RRRE.exe, right click it, select Create Dump > Create Minidump and save it wherever. Give us that minidump, either through helpdesk or by uploading it here on the forums. The minidump that gets created is basically the same kind the game outputs when it crashes.
Same here. I get this message every time and it's been happening as long as I can remember. Tried everything, can't stop it happening. I hope a fix can be found.
I asked people to do this but never got a feedback if it helped, so could anyone getting this try refreshing their steam client files and see if that changes anything?
Same thing here, probably about 80% of the time I start it, and pretty much for as long as I've been playing the sim (i.e., since Nov '14), but it never seems to have a negative impact so I just ignore it. For what it's worth, R3E is the only game I can recall ever encountering this error message.
Quoting Injun from steam forum: "I cannot find RRRE.EXE in the list after shutdown. This dump is while RRRE is still running but with the error thrown by steam showing on the desktop. Perhaps others could try doing the file flush and report back. The error message didn't occur every time I launched R3E prior to this. I would say it happened most times (80-90%) so perhaps I had a lucky run last night. I did several R3E launches though. I'll keep you informed.
This happens every time I press "play" on Steam client and never when I use desk icon, so by now I got used to run R3E with the icon, everything else with steam.
