Ahhh , my fault, this was an opinion on how it should be , when reality is demanded, my logic points me this way Andi
I think people refer to the sounds they hear onboard on Sundays when they watch the races on TV because I doubt there are many people here who have driven a competition Audi R8 GT3. This noise is characteristic of the Audi R8 and very present and unfortunately we hardly hear it
Yeah, I find this idea interesting. I wonder if there's a way to imitate this sound dampening via some post-processing for those who'd want it this way.
Sound wise with speake earpluggs and a helmet , your taking out 31-41 db , of sound , now thats the power , as to what frequencies get lost /muffled/muted or changed thats harder to guess ..... 41 decibel loss is quiet a lot Andi
The volume of this sound was adjusted this way precisely because some people found it annoying. But you're right when you say that it should be louder to match the reality. Most of the games don't feature this kind of detail, although it's an actual part of the Audi sound
Just ignore those people on this one That compressor sound is one of my absolute favorite things about the r8 onboards, would love to have it more present in game
I also love this particular compressor sound, it's curious but it changes. As I also loved the sound of hybrid lmp1. 919, R18, ts050
Interesting discussion on the sound issue. Maybe people should not forget, that in reality, the driver wears earplugs / has speakers in his helmet producing a constant low noise. Also. the helmet itself dampens any sound considerably . So what we would hear when wearing a helmet and having board radio on would be completely different then what we hear in most sims as "internal". After having driven various motorbikes for almost 4 decades, I can say, that most high frequency sounds are filtered away by the insulation of the helmet and most low frequenzency sounds are kind of low tone mix of everything else. I have one game, I think it's F1 2021, in which you can switch "in Car" sound to "Helmet". You would be surprised how much different even a screaming F1 engine sounds. Not nice , but that is also reality....
Correct and i totally agree, but a sound update is coming so this means the actual sound can be improved
Loving it! Thanks a lot for this one! Now some questions Its possible to add the 488 to the GT3 class? Can we expect to see the 488 GTE soon?
I know there's a whole bunch of reasons behind these in reality, but I hope 'class is dead' isn't too high on the list. I kinda see the role of sims is to 'preserve' this stuff as much as it is anything else, and if we only ever got current/new stuff, the future of sims is looking pretty dull compared to what's been and gone.
